Nothing in a Star Wars movie was written by Leigh Brackett. Kasdan only co-wrote Jedi based on Lucas’s treatment and polished Lucas’s script for Empire.

What agenda? I’m just sick of the vocal minority constantly whining about my favourite films. The special editions barely change anything about the movies.
So? For all the crap people like you heap on Lucas for altering his films, you want to forcibly alter an artist’s vision away from how they want it represented?
What does someone’s motive have to do with the integrity of their own art? You don’t have to like it, but an artist has the right to present their art in the form they like, and nobody should have the right to take that away.
No, Empire and Jedi are Lucas’s films.
I watched Return of the Jedi the other day, and no arguments were invalidated.
Actually, for anyone paying attention, what Disney did with their promotion was deceive the audience - specifically the vocal part of the audience that complains about the prequels and CG...
You can get that on DVD. By your choice of words, it sounds like you’re just applying a weird variant of the ‘nature fallacy’. You just want the ‘original’ because that’s somehow intrinsically better than any modified version. As if that makes it more pure. What a load of rubbish.
Do you think Disney is not already selling millions of dollars of Star Wars movies? There would be very little change in the number of copies sold if the earlier versions were released. Don’t confuse Internet complainers for a large part of the market. Most people don’t know or care about the differences between the…
No, some viewers misinterpreted Han’s character as a murderer, which was why Lucas tweaked the Greedo scene to make his original scripted intention clear - that Han was acting purely in self defence. You can take what you like. It was always obvious to me that Solo was a rogue, not a murderer, so the change is…
Yes, and replaced with a poor photocopy of Episode IV without the heart, symbolism, thematic content, or originality.
It won’t happen. A handful of vocal bandwaggon haters on the Internet whining constantly about ‘the originals’ isn’t the same as actual demand. Most people (you know, non-neck beards) are happy with the superior Special Editions that are effectively 99.9% the same movies but with better sound and visuals.
Lucas was (and still is) against *corporations altering an artist’s films without the artist’s consent*.
There really isn’t much demand outside of the Internet bandwaggon echo chamber.
Well no, because Lucas was the primary author of those movies. He was the main story/script writer and decision maker in all areas in his very hands-on role as executive producer. Lucas’s role was much like that of a TV ‘show runner’ on Episodes V and VI.
Everything you wrote is pure nonsense.
The Blu-ray version IS the ‘final cut’. What you want is your own personal cut with only the things you like. But guess what? It’s not your movie.
Yes, those boxes always annoyed me on the VHS releases. In their frothing-at-the-mouth complaining sessions, the Special Edition haters forget that 99% of the work done in the Special Editions was restoring the footage and cleaning up the visual effects and audio.
It is the Special Edition, i.e. the completed, canon version of the film.
There’s a big difference between liking different movies and telling the same lame jokes for 15 years.
