She's the greatest! I was just looking on the website and it appears older cats adoption fee is around $10 but the standard was around $50. There was a Siamese kitten going for $150! I have never spent a lot of time around the cat adoption area of the shelter so consider me schooled! :)

I see. I'm not much of a cat person though I do like cats. It just seemed high considering I adopted my dog from the Humane Society here for $70. To me, it seemed like a lot for a smaller shelter animal, but all those things you mentioned certainly add up, no matter what the animal, I'm sure.

Good, I know where I'll be buying ice cream this weekend.

$75 for a cat? That cat better be able to do more than call 911

Different incident. Mine was early aughts in the midwest

This happened at my school, too. I was not there, but the bartenders set the bar on fire as a Coyote Ugly type stunt and a bunch of people got burned. There were lawsuits and such and I know the bar eventually went under.

I'm not intolerant to dairy in any way, but when I was pregnant, I grew a huge aversion to dairy milk for some reason (not including yogurt, cheese, or ice cream, thank goodness). I'd buy a quart of milk and use it for cooking, but that old familiar 'milk gone bad' smell would come up as we could never finish it. So

Mine is still an infant, but I'm scared of the day she starts to crawl, which I fear may only be a couple short months away as she is an expert shimmier.

As someone who has worked in human services serving older adults most of my professional life, age 60 is generally about the age that one is considered an older adult.

Amen. I'm originally an Iowan—which is really no picnic to drive through— but that stretch of Interstate 80 that goes through Nebraska is unbearable!

Yael Naim is French-Israeli

I wake up between 5:30 and 5:45 on weekdays, but I have a five month old and have to pump and feed her and all that jazz. I eat steel cut oatmeal with banana, greek yogurt, pb, and maple syrup every day. but I cook it all on Sundays and just reheat a bowl each morning. I leave the house at 7:30 to get to work at 8.

Nope, sorry Santa Barbara high school, West Linn, Oregon seniors did this last year:

Yes! My dad and I danced to this song in 2011. Great one!

About fuckin' time, Oregon!

Mmm, my husband is owed two bottles of Templeton Rye in the near future and I can't wait to put some on the rocks. Excited to maybe eat Templeton bacon soon too

Sometimes I'll be feeding my baby and get distracted by something, then look down to see that she's unlatched and has Jackson Pollock milk splatter all over her face.

mine will say "we're not home" some days.

He's from the same area I am originally and he dated a friend of my older sisters. The first time I met him I was probably in 8th grade and my sister and I ran into him outside a coffee shop in Des Moines, Iowa. Then, in 2005 I was having drinks w/ friends at a nearly empty bar in downtown Des Moines and he came in

I had drinks with Khal Drogo. Eat your hearts out ladies!
