I had to introduce the bottle on day two. It was so fucking stressful to breastfeed in the beginning and she was losing weight fast. I feared nipple confusion, but she took to both really well. I'm going back to work in a week and a half and am already dreading having to pump at work, so much that I may just

Best of luck to you and congratulations on bambino #2!

I both bottlefeed and breastfeed my almost 11 week old and it has worked out well for us.

It's also Sir Michael's birthday today, so maybe a birthday lay?

I had to come back to this because 'milk vampire' is the best phrase I've heard and I have been using it with my daughter during breastfeeding times. Especially last night when she sucked so hard it hurt.

Yes, very excellent. For me, in the beginning when I was struggling to establish breastfeeding, this also included: changing her diaper before she feeds, assembling breastpump parts and bringing them to me so I can pump after feeding, and putting my hair back.

oh god that sounds awful. I'm actually currently pumping (ha), but cannot even imagine not being able to empty my breasts in the morning if my baby is still asleep. They hurt enough when they're so full, no need for more pain. Fuck these guys.

My husband is a ketchup addict too. He once bought a huge bag of ketchup flavored potato chips and dipped them in ketchup. Gag. I, on the other hand, am more of a mustard girl.

you need to edit this to include a spoiler alert unless you want a million replies

Easy on the lentils! I'm a Portland mama and my daughter will be getting her vaccination shots as soon as she can. Lentil tacos are awesome.

Don't worry, some of us (plan to) vaccinate our kids. My six week old will be getting hers for damn sure!

Jeez, Jez, spoiler alert much?

Gabby lived (lives?) in West Des Moines, which is not super racially diverse. However, in Des Moines proper, there is a widely diverse population (or least there was when I lived and grew up there in the 80's and 90's)

Yes! My daughter is almost four weeks and I try to shower every other day, but when you're an in house milk machine most of the day, what does it matter? Congrats to you on your son! I can remember when we were just 15 weeks along. how time flies :)

I'll report back!

No, but that is adorable and kind of wish my parents had named me that instead. It's Johanna and I usually go by Johanna. While not terribly unique, it still ranks pretty high (482) on the name list on ssa.gov.

Thank you!

Congrats to you! I'm technically due the 9th, but she is breech so I am having a C section on Friday. I'm definitely not obsessed with being unique at all. The name we chose is the name of an actress I read about here on Jezebel, actually, in one of the fashion posts, it just happens to pay homage to my husband's

I am having a daughter in exactly three days. The name we have chosen for her, which has special meaning to my husband and me hasn't ever ranked in the SSA database for names. That is not to say that down the road it all of a sudden becomes a top ten name. I really hope not, though.
