As someone who DD’s a manual, that shifter is actually easier for me to use than a traditional one. push for reverse, pull for drive, slide to the left for manual control, push the P for park. Super easy, and, as everyone else pointed out, it parks itself if you forget to, something that may have saved Anton’s life if

BMW’s shifter isn't confusing... And it puts the car in park if you open the door and release the brake.

I think that the rear view camera and blind spot monitor alone are worth $1250 when it comes to BMW options. A rear view camera is a must when parallel parking or pulling out of spaces while perpendicular parked. Rear view cameras are fantastic. As for the driving aids, most of them are pretty useless but blind spot

1. Dinan is great at building parts and cars, but they tend to be a little on the “inflated” side when it comes to HP/TQ numbers. And BMW always underrates their cars from the factory, so the “Dinan Difference” is often less drastic than it appears.
