Mazda RX-8. Not sure it qualifies as objectively bad since it was frequently praised by critics, but it definitely earned a reputation for its shortcomings. Some of it deserved and some of it not. Still one of my favorites among any car I’ve previously owned though.

Saw the picture and was like “Now we’re talking!” Nice enough to drive while you work to shave some of the warts off, but not so nice that you’d hesitate turning it into a battle/safari wagon, or pulling out the guts and doing something interesting if the B230 starts going south. It’s even the right color of baby puke

Per the articles of governance established and set forth by the Nice Price or No Dice Executive Board, no less than one (1) example of an early 2000's VAG product shall be submitted to the review committee per week to ensure members are of sound mind and able to uphold their duties faithfully.

God yes. Not only that, but also teasing us with the achingly gorgeous RX-Vision only to abandon it are tops for me within recent history. But hey, at least they now have 5 SUVs to choose from.

For the most part, I don’t really care how fools choose to separate themselves from their own money, as long as it doesn’t pose a danger or annoyance to everyone around them. Examples being:

ND. This looks like a Volvo 244 kissed a Zimmer and walked away wearing a smidge of its lipstick. I can’t imagine how much money and Grey Poupon it would take to keep one of these going.

I do, even though I had a PS1 instead of N64. I definitely remember them being featured heavily in Gran Turismo 2 as well, especially as CPU opponents in the early cup races. The New Beetle was THE car that almost everyone bought first with their early race winnings.

I believe it. Intentional or not, VW could not have timed this better. The mid to late nineties were a renaissance age for 60's nostalgia and this just hit so incredibly hard. Woodstock ‘98 combined with the shitty politics of our parents might have crushed any fondness for that era, but the Beetle survived it and

The new Beetle was a really, really big deal in 1998. People were absolutely clamoring for these things. Like them or not, they carried the spirit of the original forward and everyone, young and old, went nuts for it. This compelled almost every automaker to climb onto the retro bandwagon, quickly turning it into a

Unquestionably. Even as a dumb kid during the Stealth’s heyday I never understood why I’d see 10 of them for every 3000GT. And that bizzarely placed boomerang spoiler made them look even worse.

I know I’m going to catch hell for this but... wow, these really have NOT held up. And that’s coming from someone who likes plenty of cars with divisive looks.

I think it’s very telling that there used to be a lot of these on the roads until about 2010-ish, when their numbers really thinned. I see plenty of 20-year old cars still running about just fine, but these are a rare sight nowadays.

It’s wholly unremarkable and offers little performance gain over the base 1.8T. The best you could say about them is that it doesn’t suffer from the extreme oil sludging that the 1.8T was known for, though it does have its own set of problems. They have rubber timing belts. I don’t remember what the rollers are made

Almost anything that runs these days is worth $5k but I’m still voting ND. Having previously owned a 4-Motion GLX Passat of this generation, I can assure you that repairs are both frequent and expensive, and will quickly outpace the actual value of the car.

Because I’m seeing the same tall vertical slab of a front end that nearly all American trucks have. To me, this looks incredibly similar to a Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra. Tastes are subjective, and I just prefer the previous design. Also, as an American, it’s not like I see a ton of new Mitsubishi product on the

Saw these all over Jamaica the last couple of times we visited. Looks like they’ve gone out of their way to “Americanize” it, resulting in a far uglier truck.

This occupies a weird space in no man’s land. It might be rare but is it desirable? I think the answer is no, not really — especially not at $13k.

It’s fine, I think?. This one could depend on how badly someone wants a Viper and how much work they’re willing to put into finding one. Personally, I’d be extremely reluctant to buy a Viper off Craigslist, but to each their own. Provided it doesn’t have a salvage title or significant accident history, and isn’t a

Agreed. Within 30 minutes of using the Backbone, I realized it didn’t solve anything for me and that using a tablet + Dual Sense for remote play was the better option anyway. I sent it back and probably won’t try another cradle-type controller designed exclusively for phones.
