Indeed,
Indeed,
Electric cars only have about half of the number of fluids compared to a gas car.
A man builds robotic snakes for a living, I guess you could say he is a python programmer...
It probably stems from German roots, it gets complicated quick
The Chevy Spark EV/VW eGolf/Kia Soul EV (and similar) would be good for that, in case of long distance, Chevy Bolt.
It is definitely time to go electric, your brakes will last for much much longer.
Are you saying a brake replacement every 15k?
That’s a terribly designed car if that’s the case as most brakes should last 75k. Electric brakes will probably good for the lifetime of the car or 100k, whichever comes first thanks to regen braking.
The definitely are set up right with solar for an electric car or at least a plug in hybrid if their range requirements are >150 miles.
How far do you drive daily?
How far do you drive for vacation/travel?
How hot/cold is the area you live in?
Carry a lot of, kids, gear, and tech?
Or just you and possibly a +1/2?
You don’t have to buy a new car... gently used and refurbished electrics (3-5 years old) are just as good as brand-new ones in performance, range, and lifespan.
So... still not that great of a deal.
The Volt can do both, the awesome feature is that it can clutch the engine into the drive gear for both power generation and applying torque to the wheels.
It’s a step in the right direction, financial + environmentally friendly, and the car is worth it for the speed and smoothness unto itself.
I too have a Volt, planning on keeping it for a while as my other one was wrecked by a bad driver. (Wrecked 2015, bought a 2017)
Emily, thank you so much for sharing this!
It all depends on the solar panel size, but theoretically if you can get up to 500 watts, the car will charge every day.
It all depends on which model car, but the batteries will degrade very slowly if they are liquid cooled which means they’ll last for the lifetime of ownership (estimated 8-10 years) and some projections show EV batteries lasting for 15+ years.
Depending on the jerk and the context of the comments, I use movie quotes and clever puns to point out the problems with their argument.
Like I said, not authoritative, and with little you drive, an electric car would still be a benefit because you could get a much smaller model without having to worry about range.
