The content of a game is political. If a game takes place during a war, it is making a statement about war. Games don’t exist in a hermetically sealed space where their content doesn’t offer reflection upon the real world. If games are art, they are making statements about the real world. It’s really not a shitty

As the author points out, pretty much all the games she criticizes are games she plays a lot and enjoys. You say you want to read more positivity, and plenty of that can be found here on this site. But what sets Kotaku apart (and really gives any site its own identity) is going to be the way in which its writers are

I suppose it’s not as simple to conceal your movements or double back in the same way, but I wonder if something similar can be pulled off in tennis as well.

This was so fun to watch, but wow did the conversation take a dark turn when discussing the going rate for wetwork.

How has a solution to this not been floated yet? If broadcasters are so desperate to have advertising during sports that pretty much require an uninterrupted broadcast (F1, soccer, etc.), why don’t they just use small banners somewhere on screen? It is very weird to hear about which schools from your hometown are good at basketball nowadays. When I was in high school, Rogers was garbage, but now it sounds like they run things. Anyway, good for them, and good for Zia!

this is my favorite level in tetris effect

I’m about 15 hours into AC Odyssey, and I’m planning to dump some more hours into that. Also excited to play Katamari Reroll!

I would also be interested in seeing a piece about how gamers who live in places which the US Army has utterly ruined feel about their hobby being used to manipulate even more people into the business of ruining even more locations around the globe.

Trucking along in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. It’s fun, but it’s not really clear what is driving everything narratively.

Also, I recently picked up Dead Cells, so I might be trying to get somewhere in that now that I have it.

Call it whatever you want, it’s still shitty and unacceptable you fucking pedant cretin.

Currently non a Thanksgiving trip with only my Switch. Been playing lots of Lumines and now just starting Celeste which I picked up on Black Friday prices.

I definitely have no expectations that Kotaku should publish on holidays, but I really do appreciate the ability to take a break from the chaos and read a fun story. That said, Sims Thanksgiving kinda sounds like a horror film.
