It’s funny because European knights were basically the same, right down to the fact that lordless knights were usually just roving bullies who would steal from and brutalize the peasantry whenever they felt like it. The ideal of chivalry, much like the bushido ideal, is one whose actual effect on the real-life

That’s my issue. While there is some nationalistic pride Japan has surrounding the “mythology” of the samurai (a Japanese immigrant in the early 1900's wrote a goofy novel called Bushido which embelished and mysticized samurai as a concept) most of Japanese history acknowledges that samurai were pricks, and samurai

But . . . that’s literally the entire premise.

Wolfenstein 3D had a nuanced and fair representation of Mecha Hitler.

I shouldn’t need to, and so won’t get into just why the Nazis were so bad, but suffice to say the least we should be expecting from developers allowing us to play as them is a little introspection.

Write this article but from the perspective of how when playing as the British Empire and Commonwealth forces you’re nearly always in an entirely White army despite the Empire being predominantly made up of Asian and African peoples or how no campaign ending ever has “and by jove, who cares if Bengal starved and

Yeah, the only one that felt anime to me was Geralt with his sword at Renfri’s throat — I can almost see the animation on that one (y’know, the bulging eye thing they often do to indicate intense emotion).
