That’s... very possible. They dropped the term Terrigen in another cutscene. Apparently what fueled a generator on the Helicarrier-thingy. The accident could be the source for a spike in people with powers.

I remember a time when there was a rumor April fools joke about a Weatherlight Saga film.

Oof, I completely forgot that they have made a new one. I liked it more than Ultimate Spider-Man, at least from what I remember. 

It looks more like something I would expect from Dreamworks, not Pixar, but the former has become really good over the course of the last decade so that is not a bad thing. At least I hope so.

They laid the foundation for mutants, mutates or whatever in Iron-Man 3 in one of my favorite scenes, when Killian shows Pepper his massive brain and tells her that there is an empty slot and that the human mind, their entire DNA in fact, is destined to be upgraded.

Or maybe he starts as a villain/charlatan posing as a hero but becomes a “real” hero in the end after spending some quality time with Peter.
