I wasn’t suggesting the CHP officer shouldn’t or wouldn’t be facing consequences for not stopping. The kid’s injury was very much self inflicted, though.

I’m just imagining what my consequences would be if I fled the scene, even if I was zero percent at fault.

The pathologists, however, claimed the missing telltale signs of suicide were caused by the coroner cleaning the teen’s body after the autopsy.

Goddamnit; so tired of this gaslighting bullshit.

I find it horrifying this guy still has racist stuff posted publicly on Facebook, and not a thing is done...

As Third Gear we eloquently wrotre: “Darwin is going to put this kid on his speed dial.”

Quite possibly. She grew up there, it's her home, and she likely feels comfortable their. She might never have thought more about it.

Also time to review all that coroners’ previous calls, esp with minorities.

Yes, the cop should have stopped to render aid.

Driving in that kind of heavy traffic, you just have to expect that someone is going to be an asshole. Pedestrians, kids on bicycles, lanesplitters -- someone is going to be doing something dumb and dangerous (no, I don’t care that lane-splitting is legal in some cases) and as a driver, if you screw up and hit them,

Is the kid partially to blame? Absolutely. But that doesn’t detract from the fact that a cop was involved. A cop that is supposed to serve and protect. A cop that did not stop, did not help, and did not serve the public. While other cops also refused to help or take a report.

This is a terrible take. Yes the kid screwed up, but for a state law enforcement officer to not render aid, for other law enforcement officers to refuse to take reports that might hold one of their own under the light of justice in clear defiance of the oath of service each of them swore to uphold, that’s a vastly

No question the CHP officer should have stopped to check on the kid after he made contact with the car. I would suspect the optics of this situation will lead the CHP to apologize and discipline the officer, etc.

Yeah, but if you or I hit this kid and drove away- we’d probably spend the night in jail.

ACAB

The activists are calling for the CHP to reveal the name of the officer who hit Isaac and did not stop to provide aid. They are calling for the officer’s immediate termination as well as the officers who refused to take a report from the community.

If he would have just complied...

Man, I was all set for a gripe session about LA’s finest, until I watched the video that wasn’t included in this story.

Interested to see how the bootlickers defend this one.

Pigs are gonna pig.
