Damn right. I played D&D, too!

.

I’m loving this show more than I ever expected to. They’re playing the Trek tropes for laughs without tearing it down.

I went into this bracing myself that I wouldn’t like it. The clip that circulated last month that’s also the cold open of the episode made me nervous that the whole show would be a fast-paced maximum-jokes-per-minute thing set in the Trek universe.

I really wish there was another Android app that would replicate the Dark Sky widgets... That at-a-glance 24h temp and precipitation bar was something I didn’t know I’d miss so much until it was gone.

In my experience, they tend to pee when you pick them up, so watch for that.

Also, his initials are A.I. Soong. I mean, c’mon.

I think this newest Soong is just Lore, modified and disguised. “My father had me, but he created Data.” The sentence and sentiment still work coming from him, and the “We’re not all machines here, you know” seems a little too on-the-nose.

Your idea is much better. DS9 Quark fuming that there’s wealth and success attached to his name but out of his reach? That’s perfectly in keeping with his character.

This episode was CHOCK FULL of fanservice moments. But the first one was also the most profound: when the space-Nazi-war-doctor lady teased Icheb about finding his cortical node. Icheb doesn’t have one; he offered it up to Seven when hers malfunctioned, at great risk to his own survival. So this deep callback was just

You should check out the countdown comics; they give backstory to Laris and Zhaban.

A lot of the promotional footage had me worried that he was playing it a little too old, but I think that was just down to editing/line choices. Once I finally got to see scenes in their entirety, the pacing and mannerisms were 100% Jean-Luc Picard.

From Memory Alpha:

Now playing

Exactly. Look at the history of human genetic manipulation. There’s still such a huge stigma centuries after Khan that Bashir almost loses his Starfleet commission.

Regarding Laris and Zhaban, did you read the Picard countdown comics at all? They are Tal Shiar. Or, at least, ex-Tal Shiar. And I’m with you; they’re my favorite part of the episode. It’s refreshing to see Romulans who are warm and caring instead of calculating and mustache-twirlingly evil.

Someone at Lexus plays Destiny.

For a phone? Maybe not anymore. For a Nintendo Switch? Absolutely. Especially if you have kids. Got a tempered glass screen protector for mine on launch day and it still looks great almost three years later.

Greetings from Wisconsin! You’re preaching to the choir, sister.
