He’s already committed to a couple of Xfinity races next year. That’s where I think we’ll see him (he owns a 4 car team there). Honestly, I think concussions will keep him from coming out and playing when he feels like it.

I’ve enjoyed him mostly because he is straight to the point. He tells it like it is and has a genuinely affable way about him. In a sport where most drivers become sponsor robots, he still had is personality.
I’m guessing he’ll only do races in the first half of the year (likely Daytona and Talledega, maybe Bristol or Martinsville) and then be a broadcaster in the second half when NBC has the broadcast rights.
Everyone said the same thing last year, then JJ went out and won the championship. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but Hendrick has a history of being bad in the summer and then coming on strong in the fall.
Not a takeover. It’s a joint venture. Both companies still own their respective trademarks and shows.

I don’t think I’ve seen any mention of Motortrend’s shows going to Velocity. Mostly Velocity shows going to MTOD. Also ads and sponsored content going to MTOD.
I really don’t understand the “Roadkill is up FCA’s ass” argument. They got a sponsor so they could make better content. Dodge pays for their Roadkill Nights events and help with episode budgets. I don’t see a problem I guess.
Which would get boring if they did it every episode. They’re trying to come up with something interesting every month given their time, budget, and schedule. They can’t all be winners. Get caught up, there are some good ones coming.
The way I read it Velocity wanted Motor Trend’s streaming service. There won’t be any messing with shows or formats from what I can tell. Both companies still own their shows and will continue to make the same content.
The amount of snark on this article is unreal. You OK Justin?
Agreed. Stage racing turned out to be a good addition. The on track product (the actual racing) is as good as it’s been in some time. Don’t give up now!
Harvick runs the K&N West race every year at Sonoma solely for track experience. They race these tracks 2-7 days a year (excluding Daytona Speedweeks) even if they go there twice. Easy to forget the intricacies of a track. The surface changes from year to year as the pavement wears.
As many others have said, it’s a sponsor/money move. However, it does give drivers a chance to run a full race on the same track, with the same tires the day before the Cup race, which can be a benefit to them. Hell, Kevin Harvick runs the non-televised K&N West race at Sonoma every year just to get more laps on…
My parents divorced in 2001, when I was 12. They’ve both re-married and re-divorced and I still find it awkward when we all do things together (like nephew’s birthday parties). I think the kids get that when mom and dad no longer live together the kid will be spending time with one or the other. Not both.
To just rip around on the street, it would probably live for quite awhile. As mentioned below, keep it far away from detonation and don’t go full tilt on timing. Most of the time, when you hear about motors sawing themselves in half, its drag race guys trying to squeeze every last HP out of it, or clueless guys who…
They do mention they put a Bank’s housing on it to make it spool faster. What exactly that means I don’t know, but it’s not a factory turbo anymore.
Sounds like they’ll do the right thing with him and use him a features or analyst guy, not shove him in the booth. I’m not sure that’s the best place for him. Jeff Burton does a good job of being the “driver” on that team.
The Voice with Jr.
Those are the only two races I know of that use the full oval. Indycar doesa road course race there. They used to get some bikes, but I don’t know that they go there anymore. Indy is a legendary track, but also a rarely used one.
