Probably the most live show done in the past 10 years. There’s no mistaking that the guitar and his voice are live. No backing track here.

That’s great, if NASCAR owned all of the teams and could assign drivers as they saw fit. The teams that run at the back of the Sprint Cup field usually have a drastically smaller budget than the teams up front. Putting an Xfinity driver in the seat doesn’t change things. Chris Buescher this year is a great example.
Exactly. Minimum pressures are there for a reason. It seemed to police itself quite well yesterday. If your setup doesn’t get the tire through a full run it’s not Goodyear or NASCAR’s fault.
I would guess it was just a result of it getting sideways. From the video it looked like he got out of the groove early in the run and then kept his foot in it all the way to the other end. Looked to me like it got out of the groove to the left again towards the end of the run, which made it turn right as the left…
The problem with a catch fence is that it can stop a car instantly if it the car gets hung up in the fence (like Austin Dillon at Daytona last year). Drag strips usually have very large runoff areas so that if a car gets over the fence it can roll and dissipate the impact in a safe area. The photographers know they…
1/8th mile pass. Speed through the lights was under 180 mph. Still fast enough for things to go tragically wrong in a hurry.
The spoiler tabs in Xfinity I believe are also optional. The can opt to run the tab on just one side, both, or not at all I believe.
Agree with you on both. Toilets are one of the easiest fixes in your home, but how often do you go to a friends house and their toilet runs constantly, leaks, or doesn’t flush. Knowing how they operate can save you in certain situations. A toilet will always flush (unless it’s clogged) by dumping water in the bowl.
Motortrend has been giving me all the feels lately. First it was Hot Rod Garage when they went and helped fix that kids pickup, then this.
My girlfriend and I decided that this year when I go on motorcycle rides alone I’ll be turning on Glympse or some other form of tracking. That way if I’m not home when I say I’ll be she can look and see where I am. If the little dot is moving, she’ll know I found a different fun road. If it’s not moving and it’s in a…
I think the two places where it would make the most difference would be on launches and downshifts.
Even at my tiny D2 college this was/is everywhere. For instance, here are three of the classes I took:
You win
I’m pretty damn excited for the new season (April 26th). I agree, the banter they have between them is what makes the show for me.
So you’re like a switch hitting shitter
I wouldn’t buy one because of the sticker shock, but I do like the idea of them.
He’s probably one of the more mechanically inclined drivers. Every now and again he puts up pics of a 67 Impala he’s restoring himself.
Did this. Never eating shrimp again
I think that may have been true 20 years ago but I think it’s total bullshit now. I don’t think Kasey’s sponsors (and Kasey himself) would put up with lower-tier equipment and bad finishes because of it. Hendrick makes so many chassis and engines now that I’m not sure they know or care what team runs it.
If you buy the carb and distributor, you’ll still have to tune (and on a dyno if you want to get the best out of it). I’ve seen distributor/carb setups that can lose as much as 50-60 horsepower if they are not tuned properly. Also, the Camaro is making 540 (doing this from memory, so my numbers may be off) at the…
