I wouldn’t buy one because of the sticker shock, but I do like the idea of them.

He’s probably one of the more mechanically inclined drivers. Every now and again he puts up pics of a 67 Impala he’s restoring himself.

Did this. Never eating shrimp again

I think that may have been true 20 years ago but I think it’s total bullshit now. I don’t think Kasey’s sponsors (and Kasey himself) would put up with lower-tier equipment and bad finishes because of it. Hendrick makes so many chassis and engines now that I’m not sure they know or care what team runs it.

If you buy the carb and distributor, you’ll still have to tune (and on a dyno if you want to get the best out of it). I’ve seen distributor/carb setups that can lose as much as 50-60 horsepower if they are not tuned properly. Also, the Camaro is making 540 (doing this from memory, so my numbers may be off) at the

I’ll bite. Please show your work with links and prices.

This has been a great series to watch. Low buck build with every dollar accounted for. Also, Tony and Lucky are developing good chemistry and Tony has gotten comfortable in front of the camera. Great show!

I hear ya. Don’t be afraid to look at the metrics. They make some good bikes.

Should they have moved over a lane to give him space? Just trying to play devil’s advocate.

I think I’ve just decided I need an air cleaner like that for my bike. I love the look.

I would be interested to see if they’ll offer a windshield that goes over the top of it, or if you’re just stuck without a windshield option this model. It looks cool, but I like windshields for touring.

Are you going to a cruiser for the looks? If not, everything else you said (2 up cruising with midsets) screams sport touring. Cruisers are cool and fun (I own one, VTX 1800) but if you’re looking to put on miles in comfort, make your girlfriend happy, and be able to ride similarly to how you ride now, a Kawasaki

Go back and watch the final 20 laps so get some context about the finish. That was a great race the whole way through. Also, lots of people talk smack about DW in the booth, but he knew exactly how that was going to play out before it happened. That guy knows the sport.

Put some black tape on the inside of your visor, right at the top. That way you can at least put your head down and use it as a sunvisor.

I think you’re right. Talent can be seen in about any level of drag racing. A guy could have the slowest car at the track and get beat every race, but if he can drive it in the groove and cut a good light, he/she has a chance of getting a ticket to drag racing school and potentially a ride.

Muldowney is a badass, plain and simple. I did find it interesting that Sampey has over twice as many event wins. She was lights out on a bike 10 or so years ago.

This is why watching the NHRA is great. They have no problem with diversity. Both women and people of all races have competed at a high level and been welcomed into the sport. Other US based motorsports could stand up and take notice. There is at least one woman in each of their top-tier series.

The biggest part of all of this is that SHR will be making their own chassis next year. For 4 cars. That will require a chassis shop and a staff to make a crazy amount of racecars. I think the average team has something like 25-30 chassis sitting around for each team they put on track, so unless SHR is planning to try

Engines used to be a bigger wildcard 10 years or more ago, but they have them pretty close to sorted out now. There’s only 4 main suppliers left (TRD, Roush/Yates, ECR, Hendrick). I think Toyota developing all of their engines in one shop and making good power made the others scramble for a similar solution. You need
