I thought the same thing. I’m always out over the end of the lever, using 2 or three fingers especially on the clutch. I like short levers, so mine would probably have the home grown turn signal delete option installed.

After reading the commentor who translated the original article that’s definitely what happened. Doesn’t excuse it, but it sheds some light into what might have happened. Boiling brake fluid can happen to any bike if there is moisture in the system. I would be interested to see if they looked into the problem on that…
I doubt that, because in the book “Cheating” that I just read Ray Evernham said that the purpose of that car was to put as much heat in the tires as quickly as possible, making it good for a short sprint. The front suspension was so radically different there was no way it could have been disguised, nor would it have…
This is the first I’ve heard of these. Very interested.
If it’s a beater it shouldn’t have anything more than liability on it anyway. If it burns up you walk away and go buy another one.
When I was working at a tire shop if it was a bigger hole we’d still use a plug, but as you said, we’d patch the backside of it as well to make sure it would hold.
Yep. I keep my floor jack a big sockets in my car at all times.
Go ride one. Rent one or see if HD will loan you one for a 3 day trip. A Street Glide or a Fat Boy. Wear chaps and a leather jacket and ride 500 miles a day through the Rockies or the desert. Stop in small towns. Go on an old school adventure and then you can tell come back and tell us why these bikes have appeal. I…
I don’t own a Harley. I do own a big Honda cruiser. being 6’4” I wanted something I could stretch out on and put some miles on. I wanted a large motor that could cruise all day. I had a $5,000 budget. Not much besides a cruiser would fit all the criteria. I bought it and I love it.
The only thing that turned me off from buying a Valk were the 6 carbs. I can’t imagine what they cost to service/sync.
V-Stars have great motors, all the way up and down the line. Fun bikes that sound great.
Agree. I bought a big crusier (VTX) and thought it was going to be THE THING for touring at my age(26). I am already looking at Ultras and Ventures and Gold Wings. I want a fairing and places to put my gear.
Yea I would say the transmission in the wrecker is not going to work the same anymore.
With a HANS device and all of the headrests I don’t see how this would make it worse. Stock cars have A-Pillars and they do alright. In fact, have you seen the inside of a NASCAR car recently? That’s what spotters are for.
This is exactly what I said as well. Maybe I’m not crazy!
Those windshields aren’t ballistic. I’m saying ones for Indycar should be. The would probably need a skeleton around them for some extra strength, but would still lessen the probability of being trapped in the car during a rollover.
What about some sort of hybrid system? Add a top fuel style rollbar hoop system that covers the drivers head and then a taller ballistic windshield out in front. The windshield would deflect things up and over, and the rollbar would stop things from impacting the driver’s head from the top down. You’d have protection…
Get. Rid. Of. The. Splitter. Go back to a front valance. I’m all for innovation, but to me the splitter just doesn’t seem to work. Earnhardt Jr had a couple of tweets that spelled that out.
Totally agree. I decided I wanted to go motorcycle camping this year so I bought all the gear. I’ve used it exactly twice. I’m very glad I don’t have too much money in it.
Love it. Love that you are trolling Wes and those who need the best of everything. Which guy do you think is more fun to go on an adventure with? The guy who has the best of everything to make it all easier? Or the guy with the hobbled together WalMart stuff who is resilient and comes up with clever, cheap, and…
