Boxing used to do the weigh in the same morning as the fight back in McClellan’s day. Since then they changed it to the day before and the UFC does that as well but there’s no real data to prove the brain has fully recovered from the dehydration by that point or not.

It’s becoming a safety issue there are a lot of questions about long term damage caused by this sort of extreme dehydration eg kidney damage. Also it’s unclear if 36 hours is long enough for the brain to fully re-hydrate making concussion damage much worse.

The savvy athletes know you could pull down on a fixed curtain and lower the result on a scale by a pound or 2 hence the need for curtain holders.  

It’s probably more like a grand since there are 3 or 4 major artist licensing companies if you only paid BMI and you played a song by an artist from another company you could still be sued.
