no no, keep ranting. I'm a crazy gay liberal, and I applaud you.

exactly. Sci-Fi crosses paths so much with Politics that Politics tried to get a restraining order. Didn't work.
I'm a die-hard Marvel fan, and this gives me a reason to give DC a chance. Not Batman or Superman, I find them boring at this point. I recently read Blackest Night and really thought it was a very well done story, so I thought this might be a good time to jump in. I'm hoping they do something like Marvel and have a…
you're right, I discounted the allure of death and emphysema. My bad.
the same thing happens we you talk about diet, exercise, health issues. Someone always pops up with "well, we're all going to die anyway." as though eternal life were the point of any diet, exercise, or health technology, discovery, or advance.
"Krayyt Dragon"? I've seen this movie several thousand times. All that happens there is random screaming by several people. Obi-wan says something? Are we sure?
I wonder if this could potentially help explain racism? Perhaps racists (deep racists) are registering people outside their race in that section of the amygdala? The way some racists behave, it comes across like something isn't working correctly in their brain. Might actually be the case. Or they could just be…
IE. Every once in awhile I end up opening it for some reason. maybe the page won't load properly in Chrome, or maybe the website requests I use IE instead, or maybe I'm using it to compare something. Either way, it's slow. I have like 8 million extensions in Chrome but somehow IE needs to take 5 minutes to stretch…
actually, as Eddie Izzard informs us straight men are transvestites, gay men are drag queens. It's where the "Queen" part comes from.
thanks for the tip. One of the temp agencies I used didn't have direct deposit, and Chase was surprisingly quicker with the digital deposits. Often the check would clear completely within HOURS! Even on a weekend! Whereas an ATM deposit of the check would take 1-2 business days. So it was, deposit it on my way…
When I was unemployed, I tried to do at least a little cleaning every day. Honestly it doesn't take much time or effort. Then again, we're a gay couple, so we kinda doing give a sh!t about gender stereotypes. I just couldn't live with the idea of my man working 60+ hours a week and then spending his ONLY day off…
Aha, there was an update that I didn't know about. I have the independent widget thingy now!
Not a dumb question at all. In a word, Yes. I don't know HOW it's doing it. I don't think it "syncs". It appears to directly manipulate the data. Almost like it's an extension of the regular calendar app. I've never seen a difference between the phone app and biz app as far as what information each has. Like if…
Sort of. The writers, directors, actors, makeup artists, etc are generally more into the art. Producers? Half and half? The Studios and Networks? Definitely about the money and the advertising revenue. Not hard and fast rules, of course, but generally the "creatives" are in it for the art and the rest are in it for…
EXACTLY. Folks, it's fishing. We're the fish. The show is the bait. The ads are the hooks. The fishermen are the advertisers/corporations. Networks own the lake. This is true of cable, too.
I don't think you can back up that statement. We're both being theoretical, here, and your statement doesn't necessarily follow. It's an option, certainly, but it doesn't have to, nor is there anything to suggest it would. We are losing topsoil, but simply diverting to forests won't fix that. In a theoretical world…
I think you're missing something. The reason we grow so many trees is because we cut so many down. In a paperless world, the trees stay until they die and along the way send out seeds for more trees all on their own. Which is just fine for the environment.
I'm slowly working through a backlog. Thanks for the tip on the paystubs. I've been a temp on and off until recently so I have years worth of weekly paperwork (Paystub+timecard+fax confirmation) that I have no idea how long to keep. Thanks to Chase's digital deposit, I also have a bunch of deposited checks that I…
"And I stick by original statement. I live in the same world you do and have never been affected by the smoke as you guys describe it." This is what we call The Assumption of Universality. The speaker believes his or her experience to be the universal, and therefore "normal" experience. Thus their beliefs and ideas…
I think it's less about blame and more about "what the appeal?" I mean, given everything we know and all the efforts to contain, curb, restrict, just plain stop smoking and all the medical side effects —-why?
