I saw various headlines saying it seems to only affect “older” Macs and I thought I better be careful since I’m running apparently an absolute ancient ‘15 iMac ! Then I read some of the reports and they’re referring to 2018 and 2019 models as “old” ? 😳

Banning Netflix ads on their network channels is kinda petty but in all honesty, I’m not sure that Netflix needs to advertise. Everyone knows what Netflix is and if they don’t, I’m confident in saying they’re not Netflix’s target anyway.

Same thing was spotted over SW Ohio 2-3 evenings ago and caused all sorts of ‘excitement’. Story sounds exactly the same.... Some say weather balloons, some say Project Loon, and then there’s the vague DARPA statement.

Walmart says the addition of these robots “...could allow them to perform other necessary tasks or tend to customers”
Everyone get a good laugh out of that ? We know damn well it just means fewer and fewer human employees for Walmart.

I already primarily use Google’s apps on my iPhone including GBoard for the ‘swipe’ typing feature but at some point, 6-9 months ago (??), the voice-recognition system took a serious dump. It became unusable for speech-to-text for me. Before, it was damn near perfect but got so bad I stopped using it. Apple’s

As others have said, a replacement clutch might not be out of line - you can damage or put excessive wear on one quite easily. New brakes and rotors ? No way.... New tires ? No way. I haven’t watched the video (yet) but the story only refers to some tire ‘chirping’, not full-on burn-outs. The guy is getting greedy and

Not sure why his family (who admit in other versions of this story that they ‘hate’ Trump) are emphasizing that their father would falsify medical records in return for “favors”...

Something clearly doesn’t add up. It’s against protocol to take pictures of these guys (a former Navy person indicated even he, another person in the Navy, wasn’t allowed to take pictures) yet they get dressed in gear and happily pose for pictures ? There’s no one thinking “they’ll blur our faces” or “they won’t

A few different comments: 1) Just because a user ‘follows’ someone, in this case a book author, on FB, shouldn’t restrict their ability to review books that that person wrote. “Following” is different than “friend” in the FB world. 2) Linkedin clearly does the same thing with Google. We use Google Apps for email and I

The union no doubt means keep it open “forever”, not just until Sept 2020 (the end date of their current contract). GM won’t violate that contract either and others have alluded to this already. They will simply pay everyone up until Sept 2020 even if the plant is sitting empty and/or not producing anything for 9

Rest assured, they’d have no problem “tracking down” people although I’m not sure they have hard proof that someone got $100 bills instead of $10 bills unless they know that there were NO $10 bills in the dispenser. If they wanted to, they’d simply “correct” each customer’s accounts, even if that means making accounts

I’m familiar with an instance of using an An-124 to transport a piece of equipment that’s a bit heavier than this die of Fords and was going further east. Freight cost was just under a million dollars. This was with a PLANNED shipment too, not an “emergency”. They might have to pay a ‘penalty’ for cancelling or

I have to question how wise it was for the person that recorded that to stay as close as they did. Debris could have went flying all over when it hit (it looked like whatever was in the truck did fall on the car too).

The company can CHOOSE to only sell to law enforcement or they can put in their terms and conditions that the device can’t be resold but I’m pretty sure that type of clause has been found as invalid (at least by US courts). Once I buy something, it’s mine to do whatever I please with it. I mean, Apple could find a

Running OS/2 may not be a bad thing in this case - very few people are likely looking for exploits with it.

Haha ! Wouldn’t work for our teenage daughter - she LIKES gluten ! She won’t even eat food from a place like Trader Joe’s as she thinks everything there is organic, non-GMO, and gluten-free.

“Famed Linux developer Linus Torvalds...”

The prices are obviously not that obscene if people are paying those prices

I tried this by typing “root” in the username and then hitting the Enter key on the keyboard but it didn’t work. It did the ‘wrong password “wiggle”’ too. Then I clicked “Unlock” and it did work. Tried it a 2nd time and hitting Enter worked this time.
