In response to Todd's thoughtful question, no I don't think Elizabeth would hesitate to save Henry and Paige at the expense of her country. It would kill her to do it, but there's no question in my mind that even if she can't bear to say it out loud, her children come first to her too.

I wonder if he still might. It's certainly useful to keep around if she gets any more ideas.

Love the guilt trip from Henry with "you guys weren't there" and "I'm a good person." Hit them right in a painful place. Brilliant show tonight.

I've enjoyed the way they have used her to spice up Philip and Elizabeth this season… I just don't find the character particularly interesting on her own. Like they haven't done much at all with the Beeman family this year and Henry wasn't even in the last two episodes. If we only get so many minutes of show each

Oh yeah, I definitely remember the camera get-up but in the very first scene of the episode, she has this nude-colored ribbon like harness thingie. He kisses her a bit on the stomach, then flips her over and hooks something with a metal clasp, then he's holding it with one hand while they do it.

You're right that with Annelise he's definitely not shown as being as angry/annoyed around her all the time, although I think I remember he had her in some sort of harness getup, right, and although we just saw the sex start out, maybe it got rougher? Not sure there. Anyway, I think it's kind of a different scenario

I didn't see it as out of character as all, nor an indication of any feelings he might have for Martha. If anything, I think the way "Clark" has sex with Martha is clearly shown to be 180 degrees different from Philip with Elizabeth, and that's shown whether he's being "Clark" with Elizabeth, or in the scenes between

Yes, this. We as the viewers have a different reaction to Elizabeth because we've seen the real rape. She's never shared that with Philip. It's just like the scene in the pilot where she pulls a knife on him in the kitchen. To the audience, it was clear she was being triggered by the rape. To Philip, none of that was

"Should have realized"… but *how* exactly would he realize that? We as an audience know that's how the rape happened. All we've seen Elizabeth tell Philip about the rape was, after he asked, "It was a long time ago. I put it behind me." We have seen the rape continue to come up for her with Brad… but Philip has been

Oh I agree with you Elizabeth is a mess too… I just think Philip is overall more of a dodger of revealing things and Elizabeth is hot/cold. When she's putting up walls, you're right, there's no getting in. But at other times, I think she offers more pieces of herself than Philip does in general. You're right that in

I don't think she seemed disgusted by it. I think it was "hot" and "wild animal" like so it immediately made her think of the nagging thought still on her mind, which was that Martha said "Clark" was like that with her in bed. Even though Elizabeth knows Lucia was just acting, the sound of it, particularly with Lucia

I'll have to rewatch it. I thought he seemed surprised to find her there. To me it looked like he was just on his way to quickly get out of his wig and Clark clothes and into Philip's clothes so he could go back home to Elizabeth and the kids. His facial expression even after he saw her there and came over to the bed

Yes, exactly. I think Martha's gushing that "he's a wild animal in bed" is really what Elizabeth described to Paige in season one: seeing what you want to see rather than what's really there. I think Martha interprets that as some loving thing when really, it's clear Clark doesn't care about her at all, and is angry,

I think she just had this fantasy of what "like an animal" would be like. Philip tends to be very held back in all areas of his personality and I think it made her jealous that he would be "wilder" (which she may have interpreted as more passionate) with another woman but not with her. So I think that was what she

I agree it could be confusing. The actors are similar looking and the show likes to move fast!

Yeah, but think back to "Safe House" where Philip was completely naked and you saw everything but full frontal while having sex with Martha. We've seen a lot more of Philip naked and in sex scenes than Elizabeth, I think, if you count them up.

I agree with you. Philip looked obviously startled. The safe house was very run down and to me seemed obviously like a place he would just go to get out of the wig, leave his "clark" stuff and make sure he wasn't being followed. Elizabeth (who was being pretty pushy on this issue) ambushed him there and wanted to have

That's not Gaad. It's "George" who works for Philip and Elizabeth setting up phone lines. He looks a little like Gaad but they're different actors.

Yes, I saw it exactly the same way. In fact, I cannot remember even ONE time when we've seen Clark be the slightest bit tender with Martha. Even on their first time, he just shoved it in. We've definitely seen Clark be very angry and rough during sex like in "Safe House" so I had no trouble telling the moment he

Yeah, much as I find what they're doing interesting, I don't think the Martha story arc will be interesting for more than the rest of this season. They just can't keep going to the same stuff over and over and "will I tell about Clark" can only be brought up so many times before it's a yawn.
