I see a difference there, though - banning commenters is selective, and while it is disruptive to cliques it’s also not done in the open. It’s also generally understood to be partly on the commenter. The prior back-and-forths with writers and commenters I’ve seen is generally one-to-one, and generally has a core issue

Yes. I just posted a similar comment downthread.

For some godawful reason, no one on the Jezebel editorial side of the fence has ever taken a crash-course on comment moderation and so have no idea how bad this can get. There is a very good reason why, in many places, authors are prohibited from directly engaging with users. Those are usually more litigious

Oh my god, stop. STOP. For the love of god stop engaging commenters only to be dismissive and insulting. There is absolutely no upside, both for you and for Jezebel.

There are easier ways to get out of paying your bar tab, jeez.

+1 for referring to Michael Hyatt as Briana Barksdale. I keep expecting her to affirm something with “mos def”.

When has ‘young man found dead on property of internationally famous actor’ ever NOT been news?

All the non-white Beckies wanna say “fuck you” but then again we think about it and say, “Go ahead, then.”

But she never said it didn’t happen. She never disputed any aspect of the account except to say that she didn’t witness it. We can’t know if that’s true or not (and as many, including Fuchs, have pointed out — Jett could have witnessed it and not remembered it for any number of reasons).

They were children. Actual children in an adult situation they could not possibly understand or be expected to know how to handle correctly.

If you’re not following Lisa Ling’s journalism and documentaries YOU are the one missing out. She’s the best thing to come out of that show (as far as the young, new talent is concerned). I would say that Hasselbeck secured herself a strong position at Faux news, so she’s doing great in her demographic. Her career is

She's likely thrilled with your breakout. Otherwise you wouldn't need her as much.

You are guilty of nothing. :) She hears it all the time, and she sees everything. My guess is, that if she could wish anything for you, it would be for you to feel beautiful.

I’d say that nearly half of women come back from getting a shampoo, look in the mirror, and say, “God, my face is huge.” :(

How sad, just think how many women won’t even get a pedicure because of the state of their feet. We have so much shame.

Could a professional makeup artist or someone like that comment on this? Is it really that much extra work to be prepared for any skin tone? I would have thought that for someone doing top-tier shoots, this kind of thing would be basic. Yeah, most models are white, but if you’re doing this for a living, you’re going
