This is 100% professional bias from years of working as a researcher at an antisemitism project and working for the Anne Frank House, but a patch of a yellow star on someone’s breast only has one interpretation for me. It might not be a star of David, but the visual effect is extremely similar. Dumb move, Miu Miu (but

That and calling Coulter a “garage sale Barbie” who “crawls out of her roach motel.”

Well, I laughed at the idea of sheetcaking because it’s exactly what I’ve been doing, no lie (except with Pepperidge Farm). I didn’t think it was all bad.

I’m feeling a little insane by the amount of people that took her entire skit as literally as possible.

I think the problem with the bit in general is that it wasn’t really good at conveying that. I took that from it, but I can see how someone who’s not quite using that heuristic could go, “Oh, shit, I can just sit at home and eat cake? Sweet!”

Don’t be ridiculous. Obviously “Megan Reynolds, Staff Writer, Jezebel” knows better than the Southern Poverty Law Center, who only dedicate themselves to fighting this shit all the time.

Isn’t this pretty much satire? I mean REAL satire, not the outrage as satire that certain...ahem... bloggers engage in on the regular. I mean “treat it like the opening weekend of a  movie with two thoughtful female leads” pretty much sealed it.

I have a lot of issues with some stances she’s taken especially with criticism of her TV show. And I agree with this article.

“What’s most obnoxious about this clip is how Fey is encouraging people to actively ignore neo-Nazis, by characterizing the protests as “violent” and urging those who might otherwise be encouraged to physically show up to stay at home.”

I already commented but I like this interpretation. If we spent as much time organizing politically as we do dissecting the intentions of liberal comedians, we might actually have a chance at changing things.

Oh no, I think people totally need to be called out on inertness. I think this was a hamfisted attempt at that, though, rather than a direct call for it.

Maybe I’m just the dummy here, but I took it as her making fun of the inactive people who think they can ignore the problem?

Yelling slogans at people is a bad way to change their minds. But showing up at neo-Nazi rallies is not about changing the minds of neo-Nazis, it’s about showing them that this is not their country, and that people are willing to stand up to them. I don’t think anyone who’s encountered a member of the far right (on

It’s your problem that you’re looking to a comedian for something way more substantial than a comedic bit. That’s all this was. Stop looking to celebrities for guidance. People are perfectly capable of knowing how to feel about Nazis without help from Tina Fey.

So am I a horrible person if I laughed at “Who drove the car into the crowd? Hillary’s emails?” Because I did laugh. Because that was funny.

Jesus Christ this site is sour and humorless.

SERIOUSLY.

YES. This is how I picture every person’s face while reading:

“He doesn’t know how to cook breakfast...”

Tender sex as a MO gets on my last nerve. It’s ok sometimes, but other times you might want to get a little boisterous. Rough even. And when you growl, “Spank me,” and your tender lover goes wide-eyed and whispers, “I could never cause you pain,” that’s when you know this just isn’t going to work.
