As someone who has worked in goverment, it is very common to just drop the “the” and say things like so and so works for CIA/FDA/FBI/CDC/EPA/NSA/etc. The “the” is really unnecessary, there are not multiple CIAs for example. You don’t say I work at “the McDonalds” or “the GM” or “the Boeing” or “the Walmart” etc.
