It has nothing to do with cult of personality and everything to do with her politics. I’m not advocating for her to run or anything, but my point in alluding to her is that she’s the only figure with anywhere near Sanders’ clout and name recognition who actually shares his politics and hasn’t just been pulled left on

We know about Horseshoe theory, thanks. We just think it’s stupid.

1) Litmus tests are literally almost the entire point of a primary. You’re weeding out the candidates that don’t meet a certain standard.

Harris and Klobuchar are not progressives. Come on.

I always admired that Will Ferrell never really broke, even in bits that Fallon ruined. He was a consummate pro who committed to even the worst sketches.

Honestly I don’t think that’s true. I’m not even a fan of hers (I wanted Barbara Lee to run against her for speaker), but to her credit, she pretty much owned Trump on the shutdown and the media has rewarded her richly for it. Plus, he’s Trump. I don’t think this is the Bush years anymore. She could remain seated and

The fact that the prank phone call segments are based on those tapes was confirmed. The idea that the character was based wholesale on that individual wasn’t. I think Matt is just distinguishing between those things, albeit a bit clumsily.

I have issues with Warren and agree that there’s a world of difference between her and Bernie, more than a lot want to acknowledge. But to her real credit, she HAS been a real fighter against Wall Street corruption and excess, and they have long had a hate-boner for her. It’s not like with Obama or the Clintons where

Uh well first of all there wasn’t a BTTF 4. But it’s a mixture of things. On the commentary tracks, they’re sort of clear about the sequels being really difficult to make and not wanting to go through that again. I get the sense they also accept that the sequels aren’t as good as the first and that another one -

It’s a long-standing franchise, now with a TV show. I don’t think it’s even that there’s a hardcore fanbase (though I assume there must be, with how long it’s gone on) so much as it’s treated as some sort of serious, “epic” series with a greater mythology, and Ghostbusters is also treated that way even though it

Yeah, I think one major problem most people had with the 2016 GB was that the stars just didn’t have the same chemistry as the 1984 cast did, even if they are all perfectly talented on their own. One only need look at many of the other films the same castmembers did separately (or with some portion of the same people,

You may already know this, but Zemeckis and Gale won’t even allow a BTTF revival to happen as long as they are alive (and Zemeckis was talking about having his estate prevent it afterward, if possible). And really, bless them for that.

It’s not that it isn’t implied, it’s just that it’s treated as a joke. It’s Moranis spouting nonsense (which might have been ad-libbed for all we know) that’s intentionally over the top. No one was supposed to actually be invested in that mythology.

Either this or First Reformed for me.

Yeah I’m very very pro union and going to school to be involved in them, but....this seems like a case where they could have worked something out. Just reshoot the film and let someone else take credit, jesus.

I think that’s part of the problem - you’re right that by 80s standards the animation is pretty decent, but that decade was a real point for animation generally. I grew up on 80s cartoons and still feel confident saying that none of them really looked good.

I didn’t grow up with it, so when I watched a few episodes as an adult I was able to look at it as objectively as possible. It’s terrible. The animation is schlocky and none of the jokes are funny. I mean, that’s fine to an extent - it’s a children’s show, in contrast to the actual film that was (primarily) aimed at

(I guess I may want to amend this to say that the 2009 video game was a lot of fun, albeit it would have been disappointing as an actual film. But, I’m sorry, Ghostbusters 2 was mediocre at best and the love that the cartoon series gets is 100% based in nostalgia. This was a lightning in a bottle thing that only truly

Jesus christ, there just don’t need to be more Ghostbusters movies to begin with. There was precisely one good Ghostbusters movie or property and it was released 35 damn years ago. I say that as a huge fan of that one film. It was never meant to be a franchise and cannot sustain a franchise. It wasn’t an insult that a

Jesus calm down. You know he lives in California, right? In the vast majority of cases his vote doesn’t matter a lick.
