I’m not moving the goalposts, I’m responded to people’s assumptions and judgments about my initial post. It’s pretty easy to follow the line of thought:

I don’t like fad dancing -> I don’t like fad dancing because I hate how I have to hear fad-dancing-music everywhere -> I also don’t like dancing in gymnastics ->

*Headdesk* It has nothing to do with black people, or “black people dances”. I literally just don’t like these specific fad dances (which I thought were not genre or race specific, but a part of general youth culture), AND I don’t like dancing in gymnastics.

Yeah, it is condescending. It’s condescending towards fad dances. Which is why I then poked fun at myself by implying I am old and out of touch. I was the butt of the joke here.

*I don’t care if people are dancing at the grocery store.* Are you purposefully trying to avoid my point??

I am literally saying *I hate hearing dance music outside of places where people dance.* And that when I WATCH dancing, I want to see professionals. You wanna dance this fad dance? Cool. But I’m not gonna get it.

Wh

... Or that I can just hate watching dancing that isn’t done by professionals? And don’t want any dancing in gymnastics period. I really wasn’t trying to comment on some art form; I was really trying to make a joke about how I’m out of touch because I don’t like this popular thing. Holy cow, guys.

I’m inherently racist because I don’t like a really simplified form of hip-hop (that I wasn’t even aware was considered hip-hop, since, again, I thought these were fad dances made popular by viral videos.) I am actually a huge fan of hip hop dancing; Parris Goebel is one of my favorite choreographers. But because I

What bugs me is why women have to do silly sexualized wiggles in between tumbling runs, when the men just do the damn tumbling runs.

Now playing

Are these hip-hop dances? I thought hip-hop dancing involved, ya know... dancing. My only awareness of these songs is that they got popular through viral videos and really, really annoyingly auto-tuned songs.

What I thought hip-hop dancing is:

... You snarked that I’d enjoy the nondescript and rhythm-less dancing between tumbles passes by other gymnasts. I said that I actually hated ALL dancing in tumbling, and gave my reason. And that’s.... side-swiping somehow?

My goodness, had no idea these movements were so sacred I’d get snark just for disliking them... At any rate, I’d prefer the “dancing” be done away in the tumbling period, since male gymnasts don’t have to do this kind of stupid pandering. But I guess we need to emphasize that female athletes are still appropriately

Something that contained movements that couldn’t be confused with those of the wacky waving inflatable arm flailing man would be fine.

Right... gassing.

Calm down there, Satan.
