This happened to me. I had to go to the ER about 10 years ago because I had chest pains (turned out to be inflamed rib cartilage) and of course it was a week before my insurance kicked in. I got bills for the ER and the ambulance, which made sense. I then got a bill for an attending who had literally entered the room…

It was also that it beat Brokeback Mountain, Capote, and Good Night and Good Luck which were all vastly superior films.  Kind of like Driving Miss Daisy beating Do The Right Thing, or Dances With Wolves beating Goodfellas.

Exactly.  I have some ‘real friends” that I made working and still talk to.  But mostly, once you don’t work together, you lose the thing you had in common.  I feel like most of us have met an old coworker for lunch and realized we had nothing really to talk about.
