I think they overcharged if he did do it, since I doubt it was premeditated if he did do it. Maybe a reduction to manslaughter and time served would make sense.

I don’t think he’d be pardoned, but given the life sentence as a juvenile, and the large amount of reasonable doubt, I think a commutation would be reasonable.
