January 1? Huh? In what reality?

Christmas lasts for 12 days. It’s still actually Christmas until January 6, Epiphany. You are definitely not keeping your Christmas lights up for too long if you keep them up while it’s still Christmas.

We all love the holiday season, but it’s over after New Year’s Day.

LED christmas lights look like ass though...

What makes you think the only reason a person would decorate outside is to keep up with the neighbors? I couldn’t give less of a damn what my neighbors think of me. I simply enjoy seeing holiday lights in the neighborhood when I drive through on a cold winter’s night. I find my own home feels more welcoming when I

Yeah I mean I get they are way more efficient and last practically forever. But every time I see them they just lack in light.  Like old school bulbs will light up the whole area, but the LED ones, and it could be the people bought cheap ones, just don’t throw off much light.

- Using different “temperatures” of white lights. Like when one string dies and replacing it with another.... we all see it and it looks dumb.

9. Turning them on before Thanksgiving.

Go ahead and put up your lights in mid-October while it’s still warm out, but for goodness sake don’t plug them in before Thanksgiving. It’s bad enough that radio stations switch to 24/7 Christmas format on November 1; don’t add to Christmas creep.

I’m a holdout with incandescent when it comes to holiday lights. I have yet to see LED holiday lights that replicate the warmth of incandescent bulbs; this is especially true of colored lights. To me all of the colored LED holiday lights appear harsh and garish.
