Odenkirk's work here has me excited for Better Call Saul, at least more than I was previously. Sure he's gonna have to carry a heavier load, but he's proven that he can be great as a dramatic actor.
I liked it so much that I'm willing to overlook my strong dislike for Mandel.
When Gus was telling Molly to stay in the office, I thought it was cool that the writers made him the "nagging wife" that tends to populate cable dramas. Of course, he gets to kill the devil because of that, while her victory is less cathartic.
Thought that too, though I assumed Malvo was going to be involved somehow.
One thing I liked was that after failing for most of the series, Gus gets his chance at redemption. Molly gets proven right and deservedly becomes chief, and while I did wish she had a more active role in the finale, her arc was complete. Gus needed to erase that nagging sense of letting Malvo go in the premier and he…
Watching it with closed captions, it was unintentionally hilarious how often it would say 'melancholic orchestration' or 'upbeat orchestration.'
It makes one more confident about Better Call Saul, at the very least.
I think the point was to underline to Molly to give up on her fruitless quest. The world seems to have moved on from the murders, even the FBI has given up. Maybe it just wasn't meant to be. I think she's happy with where life has led her and it will take a visit from Key & Peele to bring her back into the case.
I was totally on his side with the name thing. Seriously, it's not that hard to get right.
It's all about the minor victories in life, like the occasional free donut.
I don't think so. We actually saw Molly get shot and people are doubting she's dead, but we didn't even see Wrench again. Likely he was shot at with little effect.
Yeah, having Molly shot and not ending the episode on that showed major cojones on the part of the writers. The episode had a gunfight in a blizzard with automatic weapons, along with fish raining from the heavens, and none of that seemed incongruous. Just greatness all around.
I was actually debating whether to wait for the preview, or just go into next week blind because otherwise I'd be cheating, so some other weird justification. Lo and behold I got nothing. Probably a sign from good or something.
Definitely. I was expecting a bloodbath on the roof of the parking garage, but there was plenty blood spilled elsewhere.
If they get a new handler, it should be some short guy transferred in from East Germany. They could call him Vladimir.
I wonder if they've got any plans to pay off those allusions to that task force Lou brought up a couple episodes ago. Gus' jerk-off Lieutenant seemed pretty spooked about it to. Maybe a monologue about the legend of the missing bag of money, or something.
That was, personally, one of the most heart-breaking moments in the entire run of the show. Like damn, no good deed goes unpunished.
Only if it's available on the Playstation Vita.
I don't know, something's off with Arkady. I think that tape Clark played for Martha is going to come into play somehow. Maybe she will plant something to implicate someone at Counter Intelligence.
