My PS4 suffered from BLOD. I live in Silicon Valley, so I took it to the local Sony Store here in Palo Alto on Sunday. They were sold out of units, but said the warehouse had been very good about keeping their stock replenished. They took my BLOD PS4, had me fill out a form, and told me they'd call me when the next

Well, you can't say that 1 pirated copy = 1 lost sale, but you also can't say that X pirated copies = 0 lost sales, either. So 17% seems like a fair guestimate. The majority of people who pirate never would have bought it, regardless, but there's a small percentage who probably would have.

Typing on a keyboard or playing guitar actually causes some people to get arthritis or repetitive stress injuries (RSI). It seems the human body wasn't necessarily made for doing those things either.

I don't really see this as a Kickstarter scam. I see this as a credit card scam. The fact that he did this with Kickstarter purchases is incidental. What matters is that he found a "loophole" in the credit card dispute system where they just always take your word for it and exploited it. He could have done this

I understand what Ginja is getting at, but he didn't explain it well. I play just as many console games as PC, and I'm a professional game developer, so I'm not a biased PC fanboy, btw.

Well, technically they didn't lie. Sony developed tech that allows you to play your PS4 games on your Vita from anywhere in the world, so long as the network infrastructure of your current location has good enough performance and a good enough connection to your PS4. It's not Sony's fault if you don't have a good

When I read the article, I honestly didn't see the Wii U reference as a snark. I think he was simply making the point that the size of a launch title of one next gen console is almost twice as big as the entire hard drive capacity of another next gen console. I simply took it as "Wow, that's an interesting little

Many people prefer to use whatever controller is the most suitable for the genre at hand. FPS, RTS, MMORPGs, and a few other genres are particularly well suited to keyboards/mice. On the other hand, people who play a lot of indie games often prefer to play with a gamepad because sidescrollers and top down shooters

I'm an ex LucasArts engineer. I just wanted to correct one thing you said. Mich Chau wasn't the President of LucasArts. She was the President of LucasFilm, the parent company of LucasArts. Basically, she ran the day to day affairs of the entire LucasFilm empire and answered only to George, and she screened

There's a critical point here that you don't seem to have considered:

You're sidestepping the point. Whether the judge actually order it or not isn't so important. What's important is that it's very obvious that this was a legal apology that was overseen by a lawyer rather than a candid heartfelt apology. It's vague on purpose to not implicate anybody in any criminal activity.

But you have to be realistic with your expectations for the apology letter. You can't expect a candid and informal apology letter that goes into specifics when lawyers are involved. She made the apology as vague as possible on purpose, probably on the advice of her lawyer (the lawyer may have even drafted it).

It's a deliberate joke. The slogan under the name is "We pack more protein in our rings!"

It's a deliberate joke. The slogan under the name is "We pack more protein in our rings!"

Did you read the slogan under the name?

I understand your point, but if you are going to nitpick and attack someone's spelling then make sure you understand the concepts you are talking about. You are confusing the terms brain and mind. Your brain is the physical part that's closed up inside your skull. Your mind is your consciousness, which is really

I think what he means is that if Chinese people want to live better, then they are going to have to rise up collectively and overthrow the Chinese government. Then they can institute a new government that's not communist that has fair labor laws, etc. Lots of Chinese people are ready for the current government to

Seems pretty clear cut that slavery was bad. Does that mean we should censor slavery out of everything and pretend that it never existed? This quote seems particularly relevant:

So now you're implying that every person on earth who smokes is potentially part of an evil conspiracy to make kids start smoking? How about you learn to live on Earth.

Ok, up until this point I thought you were just a very stringent anti-smoking activist. Now you are really starting to sound like a clever troll.
