Me too! And I really wasn't liking it after the first couple of episodes (I literally came here after ep. 2 and said I was giving it one more episode, and then episode 3 kind of blew my mind). It's very different from the books in tons of ways, but somehow they found their voice and these characters all really work.

My wife and I quote this, and "sure, sure" at least once a week. Never gets old!

I personally disagree. I don't think God counts as a magical negro character. Just my opinion.

Nice first name.

I love Left Hand of Darkness, but my favorite Le Guin is probably The Dispossessed. I love the Earthsea books as well, but I think I prefer her SF books to her more fantasy ones. She certainly evokes a mood - she's one of those authors that changes my internal dialogue while I'm reading her books. I almost feel myself

Same. She's been on my "list" since SWC.

My bad! I meant to reply to the original poster - PowerThirteen. Me not smrt enuff fur enternet!

It's fucking art! You could say the same thing about every work of art that anyone ever endeavored to create.

Absolutely. One of the coolest things I've seen in awhile.

I disagree completely (I assume you're talking about Facelift here). There's no way it's equivalent to Cinderella or Warrant or even the Crue. You could see some roots there, but it went in a very different direction, IMO.

My point is that I don't think you're being very fair. We're all just trying to do our best here, Mr. Cantrell included.

That's just idiotic. He's an artist - he's doing what he loves. Still writing new music that people are buying. Sure, his audience isn't what it once was, but he is an actual human being. Of course he finds playing music to fans more enjoyable than whatever the hell else he'd be doing. I'm sure this is still a

I'm really digging this track - love both of these artists and their voices sound great together.

I guess there's no point in arguing about which artist has the catchier tune - doesn't get too much more subjective than that.

I agree with all of your choices, but I would give an honorable mention to Routh on #8. I just re-watched Superman Returns a few weeks ago, and I really like his interpretation. He's not quite as good as Christopher Reeve, but he's my second favorite.

I'm sorry to say, but I think they're just better songwriters than Janelle Monae (and I'm a fan of hers as well). There are at least 4 songs on Bad Self Portraits that are more infectious than anything Janelle's put out, IMO.

Don't care if there's a market, but I love them! Very stoked to hear this new album, huge fan of Bad Self Portraits. Every time I play a song from that album around friends, I get at least one "wait, who is this?" from someone.
