Amy Schumer, come get your racist sister.
Amy Schumer, come get your racist sister.
lol. “value realization leader.” what a fucking asshat.
What, exactly does a “Value Realization Leader” do...besides think up ways to harass Black folks?
YUP. When I find myself more interested in the question of whether Chris Wood’s bulge will be given co-billing in Season 4 than I am in the question of WTF KARA’S MOM???, something about that execution aint right.
I laughed way too hard at the hot coal disposal bin. Seriously, show?!
I swear to god, I honestly thought that after Alex did that weird super flip and landed on the bad guy she was going to shout “Magnets, mothefucker!”
That’s what drives me nuts. We KNOW that Melissa Benoist can cry so well that it makes us cry. How was she not given the material to make the reunion with Supergirl’s mom a MOMENT? Baffling.
Agree. The evidence is really piling up that he was way more involved in Supergirl than they let on and tried to downplay it when he was fired. Not just with the weird hiatus, but the stories are just off and feel rushed. Imra basically tells Mon El, “hey, if I never see you again, cool” and they fly off, two…
So, let me get this straight . . . Argo City has a shield that prevents all forms of communication, yet, somehow, lets through the specific radiation signature of the Magic Space Rock through to the point where it can be detected from Earth. That . . . that is our official scientific approach for the episode?
Given that the show’s run is extending all the way into June, I think it’s fair to say there was probably a lot of major re-tooling going on behind the scenes. Most likely a result of Andrew Kreisberg being fired.
I am incredibly forgiving of this show just because I find Melissa Benoist’s earnestness as Supergirl just so damn charming, but, man, that was the worst episode of the season by far. So, we had the SUPERGIRL’S MOM IS ALIVE plot, the “Alex is hunted” plot, the “Ruby feels bad” plot, and the “Lena moral quandry” plot.…
why she has to get semi-powered from the 31st century supersuit instead of the perfectly good S1 exoskeleton is beyond me
Retconning Alura’s survival is the stupidest fucking thing I’ve ever seen a tv show do.
This is apparently the start of a four-episode arc with Kara’s mom, so I’m gonna try to withhold judgement until the end, but I’ll admit this was a pretty wobbly episode. The conflict between Alex as an agent and Alex as a (potential) mother is an interesting one and worth discussion, but there were so many better…
The usual sci-fi conceit is that it’s the sun. I’m not 100% sure why writers and editors are so drawn to the idea of Superman not aging, or aging slowly, except to make it one more thing Superman does better than us
Erica Durance is only ten years older than Melissa Benoist.
Why not just mention that Earth would totally take in the people of Argo City in exchange for some McGuffin Rock?
Agree. I like Alex in that, in this show with superpowered folks, super intelligent people like Winn or Lena, Kara feels normal. She is the most realistic character, a badass but someone mere mortals can relate to.
MAN, this episode bothers me. Without the original actress, was it even worth it to recast? So much of the first season relies on Laura Benanti playing two incredibly vital characters!
