I was getting some flak for that, but, this is kind of a personal anecdote on a lot of levels, too.

I laughed very hard at your post.

Please tell me you did not just equate civil rights with people making porn on the internet?

I guess I just don’t see what any of that adds to the discussion. The world isn’t perfect. Things are unfair. She should have known better. Thanks, for the info. The point of any discussion like this should be about moral issues - what should have occurred. And why what occurred was wrong. Any talk about why she

I voted nice price, having forgotten about the head gasket issues everyone always talks about. After reading all the comments here (especially about the HG being an engine out job), I’d switch my vote to CP if I could.

I guarantee you they have some blanket policy with enough ambiguity that covers something about company image blah blah. Most businesses do.

Again, I am not defending Honda here but I am just saying she had to have known this was a possibility. Based on her statements on the matter she certainly did know and did it

I agree with this logic to a certain extent; the only people I have EVER seen driving a Journey, is someone of.... questionable status in society and certainly looking quite... skeezy. Or more than likely it’s a grandma carting her grandkids around because their deadbeat kid can’t take care of them and/or grams and

I’m kind of surprised at the level of NP this is getting. I researched these a ton when we were looking for a car for my daughter and the amount of info related to the head gaskets and other known issues made us run, not walk, away from the ‘90s Subies.  Not that everyone didn’t gush about them, it was just always

The gasket job requires you to pull the engine out, unless you’re an utter masochist with special tools and hands the size of an oppossum. Realistically it’s just two head gasket jobs, so technically it’s not too bad, but you have to deal with all the things that need to be disconnected, and the fluids that need to be

I’m surprised people think this is worth so much. I have an ‘03 (one generation newer) with 130k, new head gasket and timing belt, automatic transmission, and a better body than this. It’s also the only 2nd Gen Outback I’ve ever seen in New England that doesn’t have rusted out wheel wells. I think I’d struggle to get $

That’s what I was thinking, it’s probably about due for it’s mandated headgasket replacement. So if you just need transportation you would probably be better off buying a used Toyota or Honda for the same price. At least then it’s likely to be from this side of the year 2000.

Had one of those...enough clearance to change the oil without ramps.

Already gone? Link is dead.

No surprise that it’s for sale in Seattle. Before Tesla it was the official car of Seattle and Portland.

But... it’s way more sensational if she’s being persecuted. How can we be outraged if there isn’t a victim!

I’m not one to stand on the stealership’s side in any case, but actually I take back that last part.

Do I think this is fair? No.
Do I think this is right? No.

Really need a 220v machine with a lot of adjustability to do anything more than tack together sheet metal. That’ll probably hold together under it’s own weight while stationary. But it wouldn't pass a hammer test. No fusion at the edges, likely little penetration in the center. Got to get the metal hot enough to flow

Ouch, you need much much higher current. These welds don’t look good.

Crocs are not good welding shoes- trust me on this
