IMO, that’s the price on competing in a top spec class... No holds barred, get as wild and innovative as possible, no holds barred. The was the spirit in intent of CanAm and GroupC. I’d love to see that return.

“Spec” isnt a switch you flip on or off, its a spectrum. I choose to believe that after a certain point of moving in the direction of standardization i consider it a spec series. For instance Formula E, they’re allowed to use their own motor designs, still pretty damn spec in the name of “keeping the racing close”.
