I can’t wait to hear the 488 driver’s excuse.

I ended up buying two Panameras before I finished the article.
I’ll say this right up front: I think the F430 is one the the most beautiful cars I have ever seen, and the styling has stood the test of time well.
If you find a decent Daytona or any 250GT for less than this, you let me know. $100,000 seems pretty reasonable for a modern era Ferrari. I agree with you in that there are other ones I would rather have (I personally love the 80s style of the 308/328, even if the performance is terrible by comparison to this 430),…
Yup. I gave this a NP even though I can’t afford to purchase it, much less maintain it.
Not to mention the craftsmanship and quality of materials over something like a modern GM or Ford product.
And then one day you wake up and realize that there is a lot more to a car than horsepower figures. I can guarantee you that if you spent 20 minutes behind the wheel of this F430, you’d never compare it to a mid-tier pony car again. That’s not to say that today’s pony cars aren’t incredible — they are — they’re just…
Clearly you’ve never tracked either car because if you had, you’d know the experience isn’t even remotely comparable.
Realistically the only reason to own it is for the badge - performance wise those horsepower figures are well below the average mid tier pony car.
A 14 year old F1 equipped Ferrari absolutely screams look at me on a budget.... with a 6sp manual, well that’s a connoisseur that know’s the F430 was the last (and best) hurrah at rowing your own with a V8 behind you.
Compare it to the Mustangs and Camaros that were around when this thing came out.

Because it’s fucking awesome. Go drive one and you’ll see.
Dude. Stop showing yourself to be a philistine.
Dude.... ‘cept for the 308 you ain’t getting anywhere near one of those for $100k. Even Testarossas are going for like 175k now.
That clutch could be the owner/driver’s fault.
Starred for actually doing research, and for saving me from having to go do it
NP. Quick check online reveals two surprises: there are a lot of these for sale out there and this one would be among the lowest priced and lowest mileage examples. The real surprise? That so many commenters don’t realize Ferraris are expensive mistresses. Just because you can’t afford it doesn’t mean it’s crack pipe.
Probably the explicit details of how baby Chevettes are made.
You could attach another Chevette to the air filter, right?
