I owned a new ‘85 in red/manual and an ‘86 that Ford gave me no charge under threat of Michigan’s Lemon Law.  ‘85 had so many programming issues, it was a pig.  The 1986 was an absolute joy and a blast to drive.  Knowing the Merkur inside and out, I’d take it in a heartbeat.
