Now THIS is some D'Angelo contrarianism I can get behind. Lost World is a blast, with some of the best set pieces ever. The velociraptor hunt at the end was brutal and awesome (them stalking through the tall grass, dead silent, is some incredible filmmaking).

The Dissolve liked it and the trailers were pretty funny. I probably would trust Dowd's opinion on a comedy less than I would a Terminator.

Love this discussion. I laugh at "serious" movies and scenes all the time, but usually in frank wonder, not cynicism. I laughed at the True Detective 7 minute tracking shot because my mind was so fucking blown.

That kind of story is perfect for a screening of Sideways.
