I wanted one when they came out, too. Still love the look of them today, actually. Fine, I’ll say it—I think they are beautiful! Yes, the fit and finish are awful. And I know most people (including my wife, thus I’ll never own one) hate them. But I still get happy when I see one on the road.

I once went on a “friends and family” cruise for a day on an aircraft carrier out of Norfolk. I had ear protection and kept them in when the F-18s were taking off, which was incredibly and obviously loud. But when one F-18 was coming in for a landing, it was so quiet and peaceful, I decided to take the earl plugs out.

My son now has an ICD (defibrillator/pacemaker) implanted, but we have an AED that we carry around in our car most of the time just in case, and a second one in the house. You never know when you’ll encounter a situation where an AED is the difference between life and death.

I second dkfree2’s sound advice—his post should be moved out of the gray so others read it. There is another condition, called Long QT Syndrome (LQTS), that is often responsible for cardiac arrest in otherwise healthy people.
