Good point about the size of phones vis a vis that of watches. Incidentally, When I was a young pup, I used to wear a watch - a cheap Timex. I don’t know whether they’re still sold. In any case, one of mine began to run slow just prior to the expiry of the one year warranty period. I took it to the vendor for repair,

Maybe. ;-) It probably also may reflect their, admittedly questionable, knowledge of electronics. “Cellular” is correct, but trendy folks have shortened it to “cell”, which is also correct nowadays. Is that a problem?

Much ado about nothing. Watches are jewellry, little more, especially if you’re going to fret over its appearance. If I need to know what time it is, I simply check my cellular phone.

:)

I’ve no idea what you’re talking about. Never heard of Fort McKay. So you support a couple of Indian communities? Not exactly a big deal. All Canadians do so - through their taxes.

Good point re credit card “debt” that is paid off in full. I prefer using my credit card(s), as it’s easier for me to stay on top of things, and I pay it(them) off by the end of the month (at the latest). I even tend to think of my monthly savings as a “debt”, though I deal with it as a money transfer in my budget.

As I said, “BS.” Not a member of the Legion, though I did prefer the Red Ensign to the current beer can label. No tears here, but I hope you’ve made a contribution to the Fort Mac victims.

BS. Never had, nor would, have any such connection. Try harder. I’m just an ordinary Canadian, who objects to politically correct crap.

Thanks, but, as a Canuck, I think the song stinks big time. A couple of decades ago, they even changed the words, because some delicate snowflakes complained that it wasn’t “inclusive” enough. Interestingly, they only changed it in English. The anal orifices in Parliament knew that Quebecois would take to the streets,

My $50 Walmart countertop microwave oven is still going strong after 9 years. The brand name is Salton - the cheapest of the cheap.

TragicManner, I’ve got a 5 cu. ft. freezer in my living room. It also serves as extra seating, when I have lots of guests. ;-)

This programme, “How it’s Made”, is also broadcast in Canada, but the Canadian narrator is a woman, who frequently can’t seem to pronounce simple words in English, such as “salmon” (sahmon), correctly. Additionally, her voice is about as interesting as watching grass grow. Watching this video clip was a relative treat

I was lucky enough to buy 2 Halon fire extinguishers, just before the government banned them. That was many years ago, and the pressure gauges read near the bottom of the green zone. I’ll probably have to replace both of them, but the use of Halon by civilians has been banned. I understand the navy still uses it

bowmaster, I concur with respect to situational awareness, That, alone, could make you less of a potential target.

Tyler, I’m in a similar position. Over the years, I’ve been prescribed a variety of painkillers, especially percocet (currently), which I’ve been lucky enough to be able to stop without adverse effects. I’m now thinking about turning in the percocet, as I’ve been able to substitute 500 mg of acetaminophen for the past

Beth, one added comment. I’ve downloaded the iOS version, and tried entering a few drugs. It seems somewhat more detailed than MediSafe. However, the ongoing fee of US$3.99 per month would kill it for me, as MediSafe involves no charge, so far. For the time being, I’ll stick with the latter.

I don’t know for certain, but I have the iOS version. I’ve been using it for several months. I find it useful, but I hate the fact that it nags me if I’m late taking certain medication.

I don’t know whether this is a serious post, but assuming it is, here’s my response.

I wasn’t aware of that incident. It seems uncannily similar to the Lord Byng vs. P.M. MacKenzie King clash. Byng’s action was shortly followed by a federal election, in which MacKenzie King once again ended up as P.M. Shortly after the re-election of MacKenzie King with a plurality in the House of Commons, Byng

Local cleaning services and a regional transportation service. Neither of these accepts credit cards. They prefer cash, but cheques suffice.
