Toyota is just now starting to add Carplay support to models. The Prius (Prime at least is confirmed) is getting is in 2020. Android Auto is no where to be seen. These came out like what 5 years ago? Pretty much every other manufacture has support for both already.

I just looked at a Clarity a couple weeks ago. You know what? The dealer had two. The first one made a horrible noise when breaking (maybe oxidation on the brakes, but it never went away in the 2-3 miles I drove it)and it’s “EV” battery was dead (It ran in hybrid mode the whole time). I am a current truck owner (Ram). I am also considering going back to school to get a bachelors degree (I have an associates). If I sell my truck and buy a cheap sedan, I can pay for almost half of the degree with the difference in price.
