The argument on this is the same as the GTI vs R, WRX vs STI, ST vs RS. Is the large jump in price worth it. To some people yea. To others it is Crack Price all day. A Golf R runs basically $40k now. I bought my base model ‘17 GTI in December for a bit over $21k. I love the Golf Rs, but I will be dammed to pay…
The worst part is getting the phone call. At that point after going through all that, the call would have just made my eye start twitching....
What about a RX-8? They are relatively cheap now a day.
Only bad thing about MINIs are the repair cost and not the best reliability. I used to sell them and the service manager told me to never have one out of warranty.
The problem is computer companies didn’t exist say 70 years before the boom of inter-operable parts. Trying to get Ford/Chevy/FCA/Honda/Toyota/BMW/Etc. to all go on the same standard of components is a tall order. I am not saying it wont happen, but I doubt EV cars will ever get to the point of PCs from the 90s/00s…
If we ever run out of cars for NPOCP you could switch to Police auctions :)
I am down for the $15,500 Miata.
Whenever you visit a dealership, they usually send you a form letter asking you about your experience. Below is my actual email to the manager. I removed the names to protect the guilty.
Two of my three boys are playing baseball right now. I cringe every time I have to pick them up in my GTI. If this wasn’t on the other side of the country, I would consider buying it as a beater to drag the kids to practice and games. NP.
That makes me think of the phrase - “Children in the back seat cause accidents, and accidents in the back seat cause children.”
When I first got my motorcycle about 15 years ago (Ninja 250 mind you), I was going down a two lane road at 74 MPH. The speed limit was 35. There was a line of cars going down the other side and I saw one was a cop car. I looked down and saw I was going 74, then looked in my mirror and saw the cop pulling into a…
How to prevent price gouging? Order direct from Dodge, and you just select your dealer to “receive” it. Dealer still gets the sale, and they can make a commission set by Dodge.
Man I haven’t thought about Bubb Rubb in forever. He almost predates “internet memes” :) Thank you for brightening my day!
Mark VI and before (I do believe) where made in Wolfsburg Germany. Starting with the Mark VII, they were all made in Mexico.
Cool bike with an interesting history, but you can go grab just about any 600cc and get about the same specs (outside of the carbon fiber) for less money. CP.
I love Miata’s (owned a NA and a NB) but with kids now, GTI is the answer. I just bought a 2017 for 22k, so I am sure you can find one for under 20k.
