Can’t wait for the EV naysayers/climate denialist excuses on why this is a bad thing.

It would be nice to hear more about how they are getting that range. Is it simply stuffing in more battery, lowest drag coefficient, total weight, battery chemistry, etc.

I didnt realize until just now that Lucid prices for their Air starts under 70k.  Still too much for me, but I like seeing the prices on these cars dropping.

They do get warrants for security footage all the time, but usually there are people in the shop who can hand it over to them in the moment.

Where’s my 8th Gen Ford Fiesta!?!

Pulled this from the AM website... From this angle it’s not quite as offensive? There’s possibly two radiators needing to be feed along with the turbo, cameras, sensors and whatever bumper structure hidden.

While the EVs – and their owners – are usually unrelated to the incidents, video footage from the scene can be quite important for the case. The police usually asks for the owner’s permission to access their Tesla’s Sentry Mode backup USB drive which is located in the glove box, and download the desired content.

However, if the owners can’t be located, officers obtain search warrants and tow the EVs into evidence.”

A sports car has two doors, is RWD, and is fairly lightweight (at least compared to the competition) so I agree there should be no Sedans (TL, Civic), FWD (also TL, civic), or heavy (GTO) cars on this list.

You can get a GTO to handle pretty well with some aftermarket bits. They are pretty damn heavy though back for 2005 standards.

If you get close to one with sentry mode, the huge display will display huge letters saying “Sentry Mode”. It is easy to see.

It needs nothing at this particular point in time.  Tomorrow will be a different story.

Acura TL?

No, friends don’t let friends buy bi-turbos. If it needs nothing, why don’t you, Mr. Seller, keep driving it?

I’ll bet money these guys have to be rescued by people in real trucks at some point.

How the fuck did they not see this coming?

My EV requires an order of magnitude less thought and effort than my gas cars. No oil changes. No air filters. No spark plugs. No gas stations. No clutches and throw out bearings. No diff fluid or pinion seals. No chain lube. No grease fittings. Two years ago I set the max charge and then I was done with maintenance.

Pretty much every EV has a option to limit charging now...

Most, if not all, have recommendations from the manufacturer in the manual, as well as reminders within the charging software re: how to maintain battery health. As you’ve suggested, it’s usually as simple as setting max charge to 80% and not dropping below 20%. People like to make things seem difficult.

I’ve never owned or driven an EV, but is there not a “maximize battery health” option or whatever, or a battery indicator that says 0 and 100 when in reality the battery only charges from 20-80?
