I would recommend a scan of them all and use a safety deposit box for the originals. Also...when I travel I store my backup photo drive to the safety deposit box as well.

I still use DVDs for offline digital photo storage. I do use removable HDDs for near-line storage, but always want a back-up of a back-up when it comes to photos. And DVDs are more resilient than CDs. Haven't made the jump to Blu-Ray yet, but plan on it.

A couple of things...I found on my ORIGINAL Fire that 6.2 fixed the touch screen responsiveness a lot. NOW I got a second one because the first one just die; plugged it in to charge and no charge, no power, nothing. The USB connection always seemed "iffy." Got on chat with Amazon support at 11pm Friday and my new one…
