As to the question at hand: keeping one or more large containers of liquid in the fridge will help keep the overall temperature low. Having a large container of frozen liquid available to move from freezer to the fridge will, obviously, be even more effective.

@kortcomponent: Aye, Kort, that's the rub — these are great concepts (and in some cases great execution of the concepts) that provide solutions noone's really asked for, yet.

I've been playing with G.ho.st and Zoho and think each has something worth keeping an eye on. G.ho.st (man that's a pain to type) calls itself a Virtual Computer and has a nice suite of mail/calendar apps (Zimbra-run) and ties into both Googledocs and Zoho's very nice suite of office-type tools. In addition to the

@emellaich: Will your netbook run XP or a Linux?

@nobodyzhome: The point isn't how much one or the other spends on their damned suits/dresses; the point is, the RNC (donors) paid for her clothing trip. Obama, McCain, Biden, etc paid for theirs out of pocket.

@polobunny: Depends on the setup, I suppose. On my eee, having 4 desktops (Utility, Work, Web, Mail) is easier to switch among than a small screen cluttered with windows.

@majortom1029: You know that that's a totally bogus argument. The moment 9,000,000 people with the 'wrong' OS start calling for support and they start saying, "no, sorry..." there'd be a massive backlash from the media and, most likely, 'netchumps such as yourself.

I like how immediately above this article (in my rss program) was "how to reduce bloat in..." Doesn't this sorta ADD to bloat?

ah, but are you wary or leery of filesharing?

I can do this already via Quicksilver; tasks go to RTM, scheduling goes to gCal (which then gets linked back to iCal and thence to my iPod Touch), all without leaving the comfort of my original application.

Once I get them tweaked, I can and will happily use just about any of them (anyone tried Slitaz? Tiny, fast, INSANELY light, great spider icon).

(soto voce) Windows makes me pay every time I have to use it...

Ok, first person shooters.. remember Marathon, Bungie's first Mac-only game(s)? Marathon, M2 and Marathon Infinity have been released to open source and via a truly excellent community effort made available for every OS out there. While the graphics won't necessarily knock your socks off, gameplay is very smooth and

I prefer my Macintosh machines b/c they're far far far more reliable: "it just works" is NOT merely some phrase fanboys repeat 'cause it sounds nice.

Running for fitness? How... archaic. How... destructive to the joints. How... slow a way to get fitter.

Here's another vote for SplashID; I'm delighted to hear it's coming to the Touch.

My inspirational video is the one of the guy trying to get through life with hand-to-hand combat skills. The part where he's tazered and cuffed and LAPD-choke-holded just warms the cockles of my heart every day.

I assume anyone REALLY worried about data security has no programs like, oh, Google Desktop installed.

When I wrote suggesting this topic for the Hive Five, I had in mind receiving a list of tools, sort of the Windows-version of TechTools.
