They probably dislike him because he says childish, offensive shit like “death to all jews” under the pretense of a joke. He may be anti-semitic, he may not be. But anyone with a shred of common sense understands some things just are not funny and anyone criticizing him does so rightly in my opinion. It is not edgy.

What the fuck are you talking about??? Yes—I’m sure the Wall Street Journal is really threatened by PewDiePie. What a twelve year old worldview you have.

You really think the Wall Street Journal is threatened by Pewdiepie?

lol yes Pewdiepie is the “king” of the internet.

I don’t even understand how “Burn all Jews” could ever be considered a joke. Yes people will scream context, however there was 0 context, it wasn’t satire, it wasn’t pointing out historical absurdity among people, it was a statement meant to garner shock.

I hope the people who are happy about his cancellation understand that they’re not just celebrating a professional blow to PewDiePie, but that they’re celebrating the loss of employment for all of those hardworking professionals.

What gets me about this guy is how he doesn’t seem to understand what got him in trouble in the first place. The fact he keeps referencing “jokes” like humour is some kind of shield for bad taste and vile behavior. While he has the right to say it or in this case pay people to hold it up, his sponsors and people who

No one in this comment has the right to be a judge for comedy.

I literally worked as an event booker for my college and I can tell you actually funny comedians go to colleges still. The uncreative, and unfunny ones don’t. Also pewdiepie is not a comedian. He’s a “funny” youtuber, not a comedian

I am split on the issue,

There’s a reason comedians don’t visit college campuses anymore.

Most super successful comedians don’t go to colleges, but it’s not because of PC culture (which essentially boils down to caring about others’ feelings), it’s because they’re mostly kids who don’t relate as well to the comedians in their 30s and higher.

[...]People celebrating the fact that my show got canceled, which is something that literally hundreds of people worked on. Is that fair, is that worth celebrating, over some jokes that you disagree with?”

But he did cave. He took the videos down. Around 9 or 10 of them actually. He’s not some hardass thumbing his nose at the media, his PR person probably called him and said, take those videos down if you want to try and salvage the deal with Disney, and he did. He’s still going to make money hand over fist, but if

lmao you obviously havent been on a college campus/followed comedy for a while if you think comedians dont go to campus events

There was a Youtuber who brought up a good point about thinking about the stuff you say or do before putting anything out. Mostly because not only does your livelihood depend on it, but the livelihoods of everyone who works or is affiliated with you.

It’s not even so much that. If you don’t want the people you work with to suffer the consequences for your action then you should probably not do dumb shit in the first place.

Yes. And the reason for that emphatic “Yes” is the fact that to him its just ‘some jokes that you disagree with’.

What a BS “I’m sorry you were offended” non-apology. This dude wants all of the perks of being a celebrity with none of the legitimate criticism that comes with it.
