“Your modders were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.”

China... Where everything is in the legal grey as long as it doesn’t impact the dictato... I mean government.

Now, that’s a classy way to show you’re serious about a project!

Well, a lot of games flew under Kotaku’s radar this time: Deus Ex, Dawn of War 3, Tyranny, and so on and so on. PC coverage was really poor in this E3.

This is quite true. The same thing could be said about difficulty levels as well. There are always people who see something that might make something less difficult and then complain about it. Even if it is just an optional easy mode.

I’m intrigued. I’ve always felt that the one primary flaw of the Zelda series, at least recently, was that it was too structured, where as many open-world survival type games suffer from the opposite and lack a clear end goal or uneven progression. I think Zelda lends itself well to this kind of game, as you say it’s

I hope the GamePad at least lets me do quick inventory management as in Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD. The map, I agree, wasn’t really useful, but the item switching (and in TP wolf switching) was excellent, something I’d hate to lose out on.

Never thought you’d be able to compare Zelda to Doom.

I get what you’re saying, but it’s not like it’s a hunger meter thing or whatever, it’s a way to manage health. The implementation is about as much ‘food stuff’ as the Castlevania wall-chicken. Now though, you can hunt animals and whatnot which I would argue makes it more immersive than hearts shooting out of cut

This game looks so, so good. The amount of detail they put into the world, the systems, the loot, it looks amazing. I don’t know where they will take the story and where the game will go, but the fact that the employees said that all their testers are having very different experiences is extremely exciting.

This is what I have been saying for years now. If Nintendo would just focus on evolving their design formulas rather than just retro-fitting the same stuff to a new gimmick controller, they will actually be able to live up to the reputation that they have. They are doing that here and it results in a very exciting

To give you something more to think about than “head to next dungeon, use dungeon item on boss, repeat”, to add some variety to the formula. Execution will determine whether it’s a worthwhile addition or unneeded fluff.

Honestly, the thing that struck me the most is how the game is the same. And I mean that as a compliment - the way Nintendo talked about the game as this open-world adventure made it sound like they were doing those things at the expense of the dungeons and puzzles that made Zelda so much fun previously. But it looks

So, that was definitely The Boss at the end, and definitely a futuristic take on the Saints’ fleur-de-lis emblem. This is their exit strategy for Saints Row’s ever increasing insanity.... Giving them a new context to be able to tone it down a little.

It’s Volition so it will probably be a sandbox game where you can play as specific characters with unique powers. But I still feel compelled to say it.

Yea, it’s no longer really a “fan-made” game, this is just a not-for-profit video game created by a professional studio.

Traditionally, fan made Star Wars stuff has been ignored by the powers that be, so long as no one is making any money off of it. I mean, there are hundreds of cinema-quality short movies, thousands of decidedly lesser quality ones, libraries full of fanfic, and an entire cottage industry devoted to making movie-grade

But there are still limits in trademarks. You’re not allowed to sell computers or phones under the “Apple” trademark, but you’d still be able to sell a pocket calculator under “NotApple” and a Orange symbol.

It’s always funny to see how quickly upper management think themselves god and can do what they want. Hmm ‘GTA’ a crime around for several decades, oh actually we own that because I say we do. Roman Numerals, oh we invented those, only idiots think the Romans did.
