I prefer paper copies for my college texts. I have a better experience dog-earing and highlighting the paper copies than the eBook copies.

I haven't had any issues with the GOT books on my iPad. Read them as ePubs through the iBook app. I actually prefer at times reading them on iPad over actual book because of the heft of the book as I hold it. I have read Storm of Swords and Feast for Crows and am beginning Dance with Dragons :)
