The Mazda Iconic was already built.

Now just offer a drop-top version and I think you’re there. Even a power retractable hard top (NC style) would be awesome. - 2 doors for sure, maybe a semi-usable back seat for 2 more?

If they built this with all electric drive, a large enough battery for say 100 miles or so, and a

Agreed. And British racing green (BRG) is the best color for a Miata ( the 91 single stage not the 2001 clear coat)

It’s very dependent on where you charge. We have 2 Bolts. We’re fortunate to pay only ~ .09 a kwh for home electricity (taking the total electric monthly bill / kwh).

The Bolts get between 4-5 miles / kwh (avg seems to be 4.6) on our around town trips. At $3.00 a gallon on a ICE vehicle that can go 30 miles/gallon

I believe the 40% is over 4 years - and the unions did give up a lot back in 2008 so a lot of this it catch-up. In addition the 2-tier system is on the table. The union wants it eliminated (rightly so I think - unequal pay for equal work?).

The pension is old-school but without details on how it is structered (does it

You can get a BRAND NEW ONE for around 22-23K if you qualify for the $7500 tax credit.

We purchased a 23 EUV in Jan. It was such a great deal we picked up a 23 EV (the smaller variant) in June. Paid MSRP for both. We took advantage of a (then) $500 Costco credit on the EUV and a $500 GM nursing credit on the EV. The

Picked up 2 BOLTs this year. A 23 EUV with lots of options and it came with the 220v level 2 charge cable AND the option to have GM install a 220v outlet in our garage. Great deal + $7500 tax credit when we file next year so it will be around $25K (not counting taxes and registratino) - So good a deal I did it again

M.I.A.T.A (Miata Is Always The Answer)
My 91 stock BRG with the pop-up headlights. My corpse would be grinning ear to ear for eternity!

...and they always will be.

I think one of the factors causing the low all-electric use rate of PHEVs is the pathetic all-electric range (and performance hit when you’re only using 1/2 of your drive train motor(s)). A PHEV with a all-electric drive would have no penalty in performance when running off of the battery OR running off the battery

Since there is no way GM will be able to build a user interface/experience that will be better than what’s already available for free via Carplay or Android Auto - they’re simply going to lose new car sales. It’s a non-starter for anyone who’s enjoy the freedom of using whatever apps they own. Rules out GM for my next

Yep Mississippi doing it’s best to make the rest of the south look good. FWIW Live in Memphis and we picked up a 23 Bolt EUV premier-trim from a Chevy dealer 100 miles away in Corinth MS in Jan. Deal was probably the smoothest I’ve ever had getting a new car. Paid MSRP - $500 Costco discount and they held the car for

Did you check out the BOLTs? We just purchased a 23 Bolt EUV premier trim, At MSRP and with only the federal tax credit (assuming you have the income levels to qualify) the final price out the door will be less than $28K. That’s for a new car with a bumper-to-bumper 3 year and a full 8 year warranty on the power train

Waiting to see what the MAZDA CX-50 PHEV will have under it’s hood. I think the biggest issue with PHEVs is the EV driving range isn’t very much and when you only run electric power - you’re not able to add the HP/torque of the gas engine.

Ideally we’ll see EVs with range extenders. Guess they’ll still be PHEVs, but

I think depends on if you don’t have a 2nd ICE vehicle and also a place to home-charge your EV.

I don’t see EVs as practical for any long distance driving outside of CA and other places where there’s a ton of high speed chargers available. Long distance trips are possible, but not practical. Your comment is spot-on

The Bolts are a hot item right now - lots of dealers have a waiting list and of course some are adding market adjustments or loading them up with BS options like nitrogen or tint.

We managed to find one and purchased it at exactly the opportune moment. January 3rd. We were able to get it at the pre-price increase MSRP

Awesome! Better long range than I expected (I thought they would pair with with a tiny tank).

Everyone is missing the main point here. THIS is the perfect solution for a single-car use case. Enough electric-only range to cover most commutes/daily driver (100 miles would have been better) - and the ability to take it

A 1970's Dodge Challenger Convertible.

Updated with safety features - All the torque you can handle. Lots of space for people and stuff.

And you can get them in (lime) green!

Part of the appeal of this car is the lower carbon footprint in manufacturing. It has a smaller battery so there’s less of a hit. That said, I think the target miles IS too low. If it had the rotary range extender (which latest news is they ARE going to bring it in, and it will be efficient and won’t suffer the issues
