The real blame here lies solely on Brie Larson and her very vocal attack against “Male” critics.
Awwww.....poor baby. Wuz yer widdle ego crushed by her comment about wanting more non-white, non-male critics (white folks are 90%+ of the critics?).
You twits deserve all the scorn you get for getting so butthurt…
Heh. Being a smug ass is kinda comics faithful for Carol Danvers....
Naw, son. “Should have had” means you’re talking out your butt.

I like it. And LOVED Kingsley’s role.
TBH, it really wasn’t clear to me.
Actually, no, they wouldn’t complain.
You really don’t know what you’re talking about.
Pretty much, yes.
Risk aversion taken to the extreme means exactly that. And I think we’re seeing that here because a lot of decisions seem rooted in outdated notions of demography.
Christine Baranski is a MAJOR Broadway and movie musical star. She’s got pipes. (So this is getting kinda technical, y’know?)
Yah know...that says more about the white co-workers than the Costner scene...
Depends on how specific you are on your geography. Cities along the Silk Road were definitely a lot more diverse than cities that weren’t; we know of cities that were a bit mixed with South Asians, East Asians and Middle Eastern peoples.
Given the number name on the list, Ian Anthony Dale, is both hapa and of Japanese descent, I think a more nuanced rant would better (and make no mistake, your greater point has a lot of merit).
Depends on where along the Silk Road you place it, as well. Caravans linked African, Middle Eastern, South Asian and even Eastern Asian cities so the tale could plausibly have peoples from all those areas.
My take is that this diverse cast is a a positive step...but it’s smaller than what it appears to be, and Marvel Studios shouldn’t be patting itself on the back for it. And pointing this out shouldn’t be cause for angst or wailing.
Well, it might be said that folks are questioning the “supporting” status given that a) Kim was the first actor announced, b) they’re being used to uphold CBS’ bona fides on diversity, and c) the series is set in a locale that’s majority Asian, yet the cast is majority non-Asian.
Just to let people know, in the original Golden Age comics (where you COULD invoke a little patriotism in heroes), Diana is shown to have
Yes.
Fuck yes.
Once again, the ones who are pointing out the racisms are the racists.
