Evil Barry wasn't clever by convincing HR to tell him where Iris was - the whole point (established many, MANY times over the last couple of weeks) was that even regular Barry shouldn't know because then Evil Barry will too (because future, despite how depressingly inconsistent that has been here). HR wasn't tricked -

Star Talk

Good episode in a lot of ways, but man did it need to be double the length (either all in one night or as a two part finale). Many potential emotional beats were rushed (I know we got a decent bit of Fitz's trauma last week, but it's obvious there's so much more to go), and they even zapped through the Ghoulson Rider

Okay, I enjoyed this episode more than I have in a while, and I think it's because of Rodriguez' performance in the last third - it's the first time I've actually found a character doing a drunk monologue actually affecting.

It may not seem like it, but that title really is quite spoilery - I watched the episode having already seen the headline on the main page so I was way too braced for where the story was heading. Please be more careful in future.

I'm a little sleep deprived and I thought that headline was for a documentary about Owen Wilson's final years.

Exactly - Wally losing his powers is literally the only thing that changes when Savitar loses his memories, despite the fact that every single thing Savitar has done the entire season should be undone in the same way. Cause and effect my arse.

Well they can move onto other storylines, but at the very least there's the dangling thread of the senator's brother, re-terrigenising at the bottom of the sea… so, yeah, still more Inhumans stuff to come.

It's a closed loop, it had to happen, we've seen the results in the future.

I was terrified that after he said he only had room in his heart for Simmons Ophelia would just kill him there and then. Don't take away my Fitz, show. Don't do that to me.

HOLY FREAKING SHIT

The other route to go down is the one Agents of SHIELD has taken this series - complete shorter arcs with strong beginnings, middles and ends. Flash has some obligations to the rest of the DCWverse (we seriously need a decent name for the franchise) but even allowing for the ep 8 crossover there's room for arcs. My

It can be done - Buffy and Angel never had the pacing problems The Flash has been subject to. True, there were typically 'filler' episodes, but they typically served a purpose, not necessarily in advancing the story but in advancing the characters, experimenting with the tone, or sometimes just providing a respite

Saw it yesterday. It's very good… but as with the first one, a lot of the 'funny' dialogue just feels awkward to me. The visual gags are great, but the banter… I dunno, it just doesn't work for me (or goes on too long). But lots of people loved all the dialogue in the first film, so I'm guessing I'll be in the

The gags were pretty consistently solid. That's good enough for me.

The companion usually acts as the audience surrogate, but in Nardole they've found a perfect second speed audience surrogate - Bill is getting all this experience for the first time, but Nardole is more of an old hand; he's the long-term fan of the show enjoying the newbie experiencing it for the first time. Nicely

My favourite moment might be May saying 'Just because she's a child doesn't mean she's innocent'. She is absolutely wearing that pain, the way the real world May wore Bahrain for so long.

That would make for a terrific arc if we saw Radcliffe turn to the good side (again). Plus we could keep him around longer! (More John Hannah is ALWAYS better)

Exactly. Women [or non-males] are already sorely underrepresented in Hollywood and TV - such a move would likely make the awards ceremonies match those disastrous demographics, actually decreasing the representation and recognition of all but the males. Not that I'm suggesting breaking it down even further -

Gentle reminder to all who gave up on it (or never gave it a try) that Agents of SHIELD is frickin' awesome this season (and has been pretty damn good since the last chunk of s1). This season especially hasn't had the pacing problems of other superhero(ish) shows; they've found a sweet spot by having it broken into
