It was the West Country accent that gave it away to me; I don't even know him from that much besides Portal 2, but there's only one Bristolian in Hollywood at the moment, so it had to be him.

So on the down side, it's full of the same flaws the first season had.
On the up side: It's Galavant! It's one of the most remarkable and most enjoyable shows on television. Sod the flaws, I'm just happy to have it back.
The first season was flawed in some pretty spectacular ways, but by God was it a lot of fun, one of my favourite shows of last year (and perhaps the show I've rewatched the most). If they can iron out those flaws it could be one of the best shows on television… but even if it doesn't it'll still be one of the most…
He fumbles his females by foolishly failing to find fruitful flaws that would doubtless deepen the depressingly dreary damsels he drafts.
I like a good balance between characters and story, and I felt that series 3 was painfully lacking the latter. But I know many found a huge amount to love in it - most of my friends adored The Sign of Three, while I was just getting more annoyed that nothing actually dramatic happened until 75 minutes in, and then it…
I don't any other time, just at Christmas. The Christmas special always gets at least a million more viewers than the previous season's average, and that's been up to 5 million more in the past. In the UK at least, more viewers are watching TV than at any other time of the year (just relaxing post-presents/turkey),…
I'm genuinely surprised by the amount of love for this episode in the comments; I thought it was a total trainwreck. An interesting one, yes, with some clever ideas and good moments, but a total mess in execution. I feel sorry for any casual viewers just deciding to tune in because it's Christmas because, well, what…
My God, this episode was awful. A lot of the other episodes had their flaws up until here, but dear Lord were they on full display here. Stupidity on display from pretty much every character pretty much constantly.
Aww, and I was going to dress up as the Sense-Sphere! Fine, be like that. Merry Christmas, and humbug to you.
Yup, it wound up being one fake-out too many. Otherwise it was a pretty great episode.
There was at least one Christmas episode, but I'm not too sure it qualifies as a 'special', since it was part of the main run. I haven't actually seen it (Rising Damp is a bit of a blind spot for me - I must rectify that someday), but it looks like there were two broadcast at Christmas, one of which is about…
Good point, I'll edit for clarity, thanks!
I just know that it's the only episode of Doctor Who I've ever fallen asleep during.
Let's be honest, that was always on the cards.
"Christmas… has not been delivered."
I do get that response - honestly, it was the one I was expecting to have before it aired - but I really enjoyed it (and the later addition of Donna as a regular). By contrast though I outright hated The Christmas Invasion and Voyage of the Damned, and The Next Doctor and The End of Time were both spectacularly flawed…
I actually dislike most of the Xmas specials, but yeah: A Christmas Carol is easily the best and rounded off a fantastic (and sadly unbeaten) year for the Doctor. Runners up would be Last Christmas, The Runaway Bride and The Snowmen (but still not that close).
Wrong. So very wrong.
Actually, although I love the song and the show, I thought it was used distinctly imperfectly there. The way the intro started over the final moments of the show proper really should have been a lead into the show's 'future', which would have worked with plain end-credits (or with something else continuing or at least…
I thought it was a pretty naff film (having expected to love it based on the terrific geek reception it got when it came out). I thought the actors all made a good effort with some really terrible dialogue, especially given that it was just four of them (three for the most part) really carrying the film. It seemed…
